After everyone was seated, the students interviewed him about agricultural policy and development plan of the agriculture sightseeing of Changhua County in order. Mr. Wei and Mr. Bi-hai Huang of Department of Agriculture also answered our questions in detail one by one.
On the agricultural economic policy in Changhua County, Mr. Wei mentioned that the food materials of free business lunch for middle and primary schools had been localized, “local produce-local market”, we should ensure the children eat reassuring food, fix channel of agricultural products, give guidance for farmers in producing organic and non-toxic agricultural fruits and vegetables and strive for export markets.
Because of the unequivocal explanation from Mr. Wei and Mr. Huang of Department of Agriculture, we got a better understanding for his commitment to Changhua County’s agricultural policy and development of agricultural tourism vision. 2015/02/17Interview report on Changhua County Magistrate Mr. Ming-ku Wei [Hsin-ju Chen]
On February 17, 2015, that was the day before the New Year’s eve, in order to further understand the policy planning and relevant information toward wheat planting industry and agriculture sightseeing development from Changhua County, we marched in an apparently endless line to Changhua County Government and interviewed Changhua County Magistrate, Mr. Ming-ku Wei and Mr. Bi-hai Huang of Department of Agriculture. For it was the first time entered into Changhua County Government, I was very curious and looked around from time to time.
While came into the office room we just saw Mr. Wei and Mr. Huang walked out from Mr. Wei’s office, after everyone was seated, after we began to ask Mr. Wei questions. He was very honest to tell us that he knew little about wheat from the start, so he specially called in Mr. Huang of Department of Agriculture to answer the questions we wanted to know.
We asked questions about the Changhua County agricultural policies and tourism development planning, perspectives on the neighborhood association agriculture and contract growing wheat, local wheat grains production and features and values of Dacheng Township edible landscape and so on. Mr. Huang answered in detail for each question and our students also listened attentively, for fear of missing out any words. As Changhua County was a large agricultural county, the County of course attached great importance to agricultural policy and promoted vigorously the agricultural tourism development.
After the meeting, Mr. Wei also friendly shook hands, took photos and gave each of five red envelopes with blessings of New Year. I’m really very grateful to Mr. Wei and Mr. Huang of Department of Agriculture, in spite of being very busy to take time to help us completing this activity. [Hsin-ju Chen]
