In 2015, Dacheng Township is not merely the champion in terms of planting area. From village offices, peasants’ unions to the civil society, people are working together to promote the products processed from wheat. The brand Wheat’s New Hometown was established. This year, Dacheng Township planted 180 hectares of wheat and was formally confirmed as the Wheat’s New Hometown in Taiwan. Peasants’ unions also promoted many kinds of products processed from wheat. All of them work together to build a good image for Wheat’s New Hometown, hoping that more and more people will know the Dacheng Township through wheat.
Through this visit, the students from Dong Nan Joy & Hope Wheat Team expected to know more about the wheat cultivation industry of Changhua Dacheng and the plans for agricultural sightseeing in Changhua. Mr. Ming-ku Wei, the Magistrate of Changhua County said that the county government will actively assist the farmers in wheat growing. He hopes that the cultivation area can be expanded, the incomes of farmers can be increased, their quality of living can be improved and the sightseeing and leisure agriculture with local distinct can be developed
