Marching in an apparently endless line, a group of us set off for Joy & Hope Wheat office from school today to interview Mr. Ming-huang Shih.
Upon arrival, what came into our sight first was a very ordinary building. A man with big laugh and black skin welcomed us. He was Mr. Ming-huang Shih. He asked us to be seated and asked whether we wanted coffee. He told us to be at home. He was easy-going and nice, just like a family member.
Then Mr. Shih started to elaborate on the origin, development and visions of Joy & Hope Wheat. We enjoyed his introduction and took notes attentively, fearing to leave out anything.
After hearing Mr. Shih’s detailed instruction and patient answer to our questions, I sincerely admired his courage and attitude towards people and doing things, his spirit was worth admiring and learning and it was a worthwhile trip. [Hsiang-yun Cho]

2015/01/30 Report on visiting the office of Joy & Hope Workshop[Rou-pei Lin]

We went to Erlin Township’s office of Joy & Hope Wheat, Mr. Shih provided us with brief introduction of Joy & Hope Wheat, and made us know more about wheat. Joy & Hope Wheat was established in 1999 and began to grow wheat in 2007.
We also visited the utensils in mill of Joy & Hope Wheat, all furnished with 1. Broom not on the ground; 2. Color management. In addition, we also visited the process of turning wheat into flour and the orderly studio where wheat products were in production, we also saw wheat foods and soy sauce in the warehouse. When visited the factory, we just saw that the Joy & Hope products were in shipment, and boxes of proprietary organic food and harmless products were delivered to consumers for eating. If all the Taiwan food factories could like Joy & Hope Wheat plant, we would not have food security problem! [Rou-pei Lin] |
