Thoughts>The Thoughts of Interviewing the Pivotal Roles

Ms.Yu-mei Kao, Social Worker
Yi-ting Liu
I think Ms. Kao’s words are very meaningful. She clearly answered all questions. She told us a lot, but all her words are important and helpful.
Ruei-luen Lien
Ms. Kao said, “Through my job, I can help people in a difficult time and guide them to see the hope of life.” I agree that we need to encourage them.
Che-hung Liu
Ms. Kao told me that we should give them help at the right moment and treat them as friends, as well as recognizing and encouraging them. Ms. Kao’s job responsibility involves family and child caring. I think it is tiring, but Ms. Kao made it.
Po-hsiang Hu
Ms. Kao is great. I think her motivation is to see the growth and progress of CCNDA’s children, play with them, and help them through difficulties, as well as caring their families.
Yu-ta LU
We asked Ms. Kao how to help the children whose parents don’t care them, and her answer was love. She sang a Christian song to us, which was very impressive.
Chia-en Chen
When Ms. Kao explained to us what love was, she cried. I can see she is a person with great loving heart. We don’t need to be a believer, but we can be like her who helps people in need to have a better life.
Ping Jun- Lai
Ms. Kao’s job is to help the children have a better life. It teaches me to cherish what I have. There are so many poor families short of food and clothes, but I grow up in a happy family, so I should be thankful.
Chia-wei Lin
Ms. Kao’s job involves more family services. I think the social worker job is very meaningful because they can help people walk out of darkness, guide people to see the hope of life again, and tell people that experiencing frustrations is normal and we only need to stand up after falling.
De-yang Wu
From today’s interview, I feel it is important to help the children find their merits. I learned that we should not always criticize others but find their merits. Everyone needs encouragement. Belief is their motivation for their work.
Bo-han Lin
The social worker’s main job here is to provide assistance to families in need. In the interview, Ms. Kao mentioned it was important to help the children find their merits. She said, “I also need to pray to God in order to help them. Although Ms. Kao and I believe in different religions, we all believe that the heart of helping people is very important.
Teacher Wen-li Lien,
Elementary School Students Living Guidance Division
Yi-ting Liu
From what Teacher Lien said, I feel the warmth of CCNDA. She said, “CCNDA is like home. Kids feel free staying here and get along with each other like siblings.” Teacher Lien knows how kids feel and how to comfort them. CCNDA cares children’s character and feelings the most, not their grades.
Ruei-luen Lien
I think Teacher Lien has the right thoughts. She said, “Peer companionship is very important.” Therefore, we should often interact with people, accompany each other, and support each other in order to build good interpersonal relationships. When we have difficulties, friends can help us too.”
Che-hung Liu
I think companionship is very important in becoming independent. When children just learn to walk, their parents would accompany them and watch them to make them feel secured so that they have the strength to walk elsewhere. We need companionship in every stage of our life because it can bring positive energy.
Po-hsiang Hu
Teacher Lien love kids very much. Her kindness already told us that she was the counseling teacher before we interviewed her. She may seem strict, or ferocious sometimes, but it’s all for kids’ benefits. She knows kids very well, such as their problems, so she won’t force them.
Yu-ta LU
Teacher Lien said middle school students are more mature than elementary school students. Besides, they are in adolescence and have their own thoughts, so they may loose temper sometimes. If they are out of control, it will be quite dangerous. Middles school students already have some life stress, which may cause unpleasant mood.
Chia-en Chen
To take the job, patience and perseverance are the two keywords. With these two, the workers won’t get crazy. We should also help others like her in order to make a better society.
Ping Jun- Lai
Teacher Lien believes companionship is most powerful. The afterschool companionship study program, schoolwork help program, and afterschool daycare programs are very different. The afterschool daycare program is to ease parents’ heart, but teachers are to accompany children’s heart. Actually, everyone can help your classmates if you offer your assistance to those who don’t understand their schoolwork.
Chia-wei Lin
Teacher Lien thinks that companionship brings power, so taking care of a child requires patience, love, and companionship. CCNDA’s children are from financial disadvantaged families, single parent families, or special need families, so they need more companionship.
De-yang Wu
When you offer help to someone in your class who needs help, be careful with your words, since you may hurt him or her if you use improper words. Besides, you should never say: “How come you don’t understand it?” to make him or her feel embarrassed.
Bo-han Lin
Through the interview, Teacher Lien taught us interpersonal approaches. Sometimes you may think you were just trying to help, but if your voice wasn’t good you could hurt people. When we help people, we shouldn’t make them feel awkward, so that they won’t feel hurt.
Teacher Yi-lin Huang,
Junior High School Students Schoolwork Guidance Division
Yi-ting Liu
Teacher Huang knows teenagers very well. She said, “For some people I am still young, so I can accompany younger people.” From her words I feel Teacher Huang understands and cares teenagers, as well as respecting and having enthusiasm with her job.
Ruei-luen Lien
What we can do anytime in our class is being empathetic. I agree with the concept. When we accept others, we should be empathetic but not discriminate or exclude them.
Che-hung Liu
I think we should know the difference between them and us before helping them. We should know how the difference was created and are willing to accept them in order to help them. Therefore empathy is really important.
Po-hsiang Hu
Teacher Huang has been a volunteer in Australia in 2010, so she has great experience. Knowing children pretty well, so she got this job. She came to CCNDA because of the children’s life and school program. I think that she works so hard to help the children because loves children and wants them to progress.
Yu-ta LU
I totally agree that we should be merciful to the disadvantaged. Through the interview, I learned the skills and approaches for helping and caring the disadvantaged.
Chia-en Chen
Although Teacher Huang hasn’t worked as long as others, she has already helped many children who didn’t want to come to the class. She wants to learn together with teenagers.
Ping Jun- Lai
Teacher Huang not only cares students with bad grades, but she also cares unhappy kids. She thinks doing homework is a responsible attitude. The afterschool help program is to help students learn what to do, how to think, and how to do. Therefore, the afterschool help program is the main part of the class but not the main purpose of Teacher Huang’s companionship.
Chia-wei Lin
I think Teacher Huang is great because she came to CCNDA not for money but for giving companionship to young lives. She thinks she should start to contribute to the society in her young age. I think if we can, we should start to give and help others.
De-yang Wu
If I see a classmate who is different from most of us, I can try to find the cause and give him or her encouragement. Being an afterschool companionship study program teacher is not easy since she needs to understand and care each student’s personality and needs. Teacher Huang pays more attention to the quite students because she probably needs to find their situation.
Bo-han Lin
In the interview, I knew Teacher Huang came to CCNDA for the afterschool companionship study program. She used to be a secretary before she came to CCNDA. It’s a successful interview. I learned a lot, and I hope I will have a chance to interview him again.
Teacher Yueh-chiao Cheng
Yi-ting Liu
Recently, due to our society’s issues, CCNDA’s volunteers became less and less, so they try to promote and recruit. Before the interview, we went to watch the volunteers’ rehearsal for “Doggies’ Paradise”. When I heard Teacher Cheng’s answers, I feel it’s a pity that they are losing volunteers. I hope the people who see our website can be willing to help others.
Ruei-luen Lien
Teacher Cheng come to teach every Friday morning. Giving creates love in our society. There are a lot of people in need, so we should do our best to help them.
Che-hung Liu
Teacher Cheng taught us about the meaning and focus of life. I think the most valuable words to me are “What do I have and what others need?” They told me what I have now is enough and I have to think whether I have what others need. If yes, ask myself if I really need it. If I don’t need it, give it to those who need it.
Po-hsiang Hu
Teacher Cheng is an experienced life education teacher. In the interview, she told us the history of the school and life education’s impact to the school.
Yu-ta LU
Teacher Cheng is very humorous. She told us the importance of the volunteers and their efforts in a funny way. I cannot wait for their Christmas show.
Chia-en Chen
Teacher Cheng has volunteered in CCNDA for 15 years. She said, “Volunteering wasn’t popular yet when I started being a volunteer. However, in the last 15 years, helping people in need has become my interest.” We should follow her and help the disadvantaged in order to make a better society.
Ping Jun- Lai
Teacher Cheng believes that elementary school is the most important stage for children to build live values. She uses illustrated stories to share important values and help children build a better view toward life. I saw Teacher Cheng lead volunteers to make props or practice for the Christmas show. She told us, “Think what you can share with others, be satisfied with what you have now, and experience of giving.”
Chia-wei Lin
The life education can help us solve questions in our mind and guide us to explore the meaning of live. Let’s think why there are bad people in our society. If we forget about revenge and try to care and accept them, perhaps our warmth can cure the hurt inside their heart.
De-yang Wu
Through stories, they teach children important values and help them build a better view of life. The biggest difficulty is that the number of volunteers is decreasing in recent years, so the life education team constantly promotes the program in order to attract new volunteers to join them.
Bo-han Lin
When we interviewed Teacher Cheng, they were rehearsing the Doggies’’ Paradise show. The actors, dancers, props makers, and computer operators are the volunteers of the association. Their teamwork made the show very successful.
