Mr. Hung-en Chang said: “The biggest part for the disadvantaged
is opportunity, but not financial part. Financial disadvantage triggers
the opportunity disadvantage. Opportunity disadvantage is something we
can do but they cannot do”. Therefore, the easiest way is donating
money or materials, and do not need to consider anything else. However,
if you are in the front-end to take care of them, you will find out
that it is much more complicated. The disadvantaged do not think they
are disadvantaged. Without respect, we cannot provide them help. This
was the important key point we learned from this research. In the
research procedure, we understand that many people need help. We
studied the operational procedure of service, participated in and
observed the services, and practically experienced the services. We
learned the importance of disadvantaged care. Suggestions of our
research are as follows: |
| 1.Empathy – Accept without condition |
The interview of Ms. Yu-mei Kao and Techer Yi-lin Huang show us
that if you want to help people who need help, you need to have empathy
to think about him from his side and accept his life behavior pattern,
so that you can provide help to him under the condition that he does
not feel he is a disadvantaged. |
| 2.Attempt to help people who need it |
Good deeds come from your mind. As long as you want to do it, you need
to take the chance to serve people. This is a problem of attitude. If
all your thinking is helping people, you naturally will take the action
following this direction. |

| 3.If you are satisfied, you will be willing to share it with the others. |
Consider what you are satisfied with whatever you currently own, and
share whatever you have with the others so that they can experience the
giving love. This is a true sharing. We all have too much of material
comfort, so if we can share what we own to people who need it, our
material desire will be reduced, and other people will be helped. |
| 4.Start from people around us |
How an elementary student like us help the others. We discovered that
the easiest way is starting from people around us. For example, we can
help our classmates whose academic work is behind. After the practice
in the research procedure, we found out that it is not difficult to
implement this. |

| 5.Peer companionship is very important |
We participated in Enjoy-learning Angel during the research procedure,
and learned the meaning and method of companionship study. We feel that
it is very important to gain companionship and support from classmates.
In our age, friends in the same age are very important. Playing
together is the easiest way to help them grow, and build good
interaction with them. |
| 6.Let us do community service together. |
We discovered from the questionnaire that the volunteers’ serving
attitude and motivation are very strong. They always work very hard in
community services. However, each volunteer has meager strength, so
they need everyone to join and help. Whether you have money or not, do
whatever you can do to help. This is the best way to care the
disadvantaged. |

| Conclusion |
The national baseball player Chih-sheng Lin was very poor since
childhood. He joined the baseball team for food. He is now a national
hero in baseball. He said: “Helping poor children is happier than
hitting a homerun. After all, the person who can help the others is the
most blessed person (Lin and Chu, 2015)”. From this research procedure,
we learned that we need to truly want to help the others. We all
decided to help people with our true heart. |
