Interview
1.What is the reason for you to start this job? How long have you been with CCNDA? Where did you work before?
I heard that there were tutoring classes here to serve children and youths, so I came to serve CCNDA. I was here as a volunteer before I went to Australia in 2010. After I returned from Australia, I came back and continue to help and participate in. I was a secretary in Youth Development Center before.
2.Does this job have a special meaning to you?
CCNDA continued my previous job for being together with youths, so I feel I am still young, and can accompany young life to walk a distance. Until I am older, I cannot do this anymore, so it is very fun to spend my younger time to accompany a group of young people.
3.Are you satisfied with your current job?
I feel it is meaningful. Speaking from the spiritual level, I am satisfied with this job very much.
4.Have you impressed with any student before? Why?
Every student impressed me deeply, since they all have different stories, and different needs.
5.What is the requirement to be a tutoring teacher you feel?
A person likes to stay with students, and enjoys being part of this life.
6.Are middle school students more emotional? If they refuse to do their homework, how do you deal with it?
Are you talking about the emotional condition from extremely happy to extremely sad? I do not really think so. It depends on his personal characteristics and growing environment. I am not worried about the kids with relatively obvious emotion. I care more on those moody or depressed kids.
7.What is the biggest help you provide to the children? Is there any room for you to put in more efforts?
It is possibly that someone wants to accompany him and try to understand him. I hope I have more time to accompany them and help them look for their dream.
8.What is the difference you feel about the tutoring in CCNDA and at school?
I think the major different is schoolwork tutoring. For example, we think schoolwork is connected to their responsible attitude, and it is their obligation to complete their schoolwork. We want them to understand that what they should do at this stage, and how can they do it. However, the tutoring class is not the major target for us to accompany them, since their school performance cannot be improved immediately. They can discover their own potential for schoolwork, learning attitude, and interpersonal interaction here. This is what I feel the difference in the tutoring class here and at school.
9.What is your suggestion for us to help CCNDA or even other people who need help?
The first thing is empathy. You have to find out the needs of people around you, since if you have empathy, you can discover the difference between you and the others, and then figure it out why this difference exists, or even if you can accept it to help people with the difference. Therefore, I think you guys can start this anytime from your class, and train yourself to be a person with empathy.

Conclusion
Teacher Huang told us that empathy is one very important thing. If we can sense the difference, then we will understand and help with the difference. We always forget what we have and admire what the others have. We are often not satisfied with the love we have received. When you understand the insufficiency of the others, you know how blessed you are.
