An accountant is a very important role in financial operation

Let’s listen to her talk about her working experience to see how she
helps CCNDA operations. |

Interview |
|
1.What
are the responsibilities of an accountant at CCNDA? How long have you
been in this position? How did you come to work for them? |
I was mainly responsible for depositing cash income and cash leftover
of expenditure into the bank. The CCNDA staffs fill up payroll
requisition when they have business expenses. I have worked here for 10
years. I came to work here since my younger sister was the teacher of
an accompanying study class, and I came with her to help here. |
2.Were there any emergency situations at your current job? How did you resolve it? |
Most of the situations were handled very smoothly. |
3.It
requires a huge amount of financial resources and material resources to
take care of the disadvantaged, and you are an important person of
financial management. What resource does most expenditure of CCNDA come
from? How do you manage and save the funds you have received? |
The expenditure of CCNDA is from donations. The Department of Social
Welfare also supports us with the feedback fund from the public benefit
lottery. We apply for our expenditure with project proposals. Also, the
foundation funded by the Presbyterian Church donates a million dollars
to us at the end of every year. I deposit the money I receive into the
bank. If I need money for any expenditure, I will go to the bank to
withdraw the money. |

4.All
money donations require receipts, and the receipts can be used for tax
deductibles. Is this because of the juridical person of CCNDA? Or is it
according to corresponding law? What is the difference between
juridical person and public or private institute? |
The money donation for our expenditure indeed can be used for tax
deductibles, since we belong to a unit under the Ministry of the
Interior. We are not juridical person, but we are a juridical
association. We give receipts to the donators as soon as we receive
their money. The purpose of a juridical association is not for profit.
Our purpose is to help the disadvantaged. |
5.From
an accountant’s point of view, how do you examine the expenditure of
CCNDA? How do you evaluate and implement to decide what expenditure to
use for a particular activity project? |
We always pre-estimate how much money we will receive and how much
money we will spend. When the income is not enough for the cost, the
Department of Social Welfare will provide us a subsidy. Therefore, some
parents coming to register always ask us: “Do you have enough money for
the 4 to 5 days of camp?” Some parents even feel that they need to
donate money to help us. |
6.We need to have a good background of mathematics in order to manage money. Is this true? |
Not really. Accounting is a fun thing. The money you receive and spend
daily has to be balanced with the money in the bank. Therefore, you
have income and spend money every day. I always think accounting is a
very fun job. |

7.CCNDA is a big family. If you would like to say something to CCNDA, what would you say? |
CCNDA is a big family, since we all have the same faith, and we all
started with love. I am happy and appreciate my life every day at
CCNDA. When we communicate, we talk calmly and happily. |
|
Conclusion |
From the interview with Ms. Mei-lien Shih, we can tell that she
is passionate about her work and dedicates herself to it. With help
from so many people, CCNDA should no longer worry about the expenditure. |
