2.Questions

Q1: what is Wenshan’s most representative tea?

A1: Hongyun black tea and Tieguanyin tea is Wenshan’s most representative tea.  Tieguanyin is a premium variety Oolong tea.  The best Tieguanyin tea is characterized by a glossy appearance, granulated green color, red spots and white frost.  According to the degree of fermentation, it gives Tieguanyin a flower, honey, and fruit aromas.

Q2: As for the development of Wenshan’s local tea, What role does Farmers’ Association play?

A2: We promote policies to help our tea farmers and help them to take out health and farmers insurance, resolve the workplace problems, hold tea-related activities for government, and help them present petitions to Farmers’ Association.  The role of Farmers’ Association is to mediate between Academia Sinica and farmers.

Q3: What type of tea will you introduce to foreigners?

A3: We prefer to introduce all Wenshan local teas to them.  However, the new modified Hongyun black tea will be the best choice for them because it is the most promoted tea.

3.Visit Farmers’ Association

　　After a long discussion with Zhang Rui, he decided to show us the promotion center. There were many tea-related products and Zhang patiently introduced them to us.  On one of the shell, was placed Luluyu, a stuffed animal, the mascot of Farmers’ Association.  After the visit, we were presented a gift, Luluyu related products.  It was a wonderful experience and we learned a lot from this visit.

4.Sharing Feedback

　　 I have been living in Taipei so many years and have passed by Muzha Farmers’ Association so many times.  Due to our project, we had the chance to visit Farmers’ Association, interviewed experts, understood the role of Farmers’ Association, which provides insurance for farmers, help government to hold tea-related activities.  I finally realized the importance of Farmers’ Association.  One of my favorite is that  some activities held to promote creative industries’ products.  I enjoyed in my first interview.  It is fun and I will be better next interview.

5.Data Management

Our interview focused on the followings:
• Farmers’ Association : it holds activities, offers assistance for farmers, and mediates between farmers and government.

• Teas in Wenshan : Tieguanyin tea, Hongyun black tea and Paochung tea.  Tieguanyin tea and Hongyun black tea were promoted now.
