【Harvest
Season】
According to the harvest season, tea can be classified into spring
tea, summer tea, autumn tea and winter tea. Most of the consumers
prefer spring tea but its price is rather higher. Because it is
hotter in summer, tea contains more catechin and its leaves are
thicker.
1.spring tea :
teas are picked from late March to
mid-May. With mild weather, abundant rain and half-year rest, spring
teas have thick and soft leaves, and rich in vitamins and amino acid
which make teas taste brisk and smell sweet and do good to your
health.
2.summer tea :
teas are picked from early May to early
July. Due to hot weather, tea flushes grow fast and its soluble
components decrease. The decrease of amino acid, especially,
lightens the taste and aroma of teas where anthocyanin, caffeine,
and tea polyphenols contribute more astringency and bitterness than
those in spring teas.
3.autumn tea :
teas are picked from mid-August to
mid-October. Since tea trees are grown in spring and summer, autumn
teas have less soluble components, crispy leaf base, yellow leaves,
different sizes of tea leaves and refreshing taste and aroma.
4.winter tea :
teas are picked from late
October. Because of the cold weather, slow growing tea flushes, and
increasing components, winter teas taste mellow and thick and have a
strong aroma.
