When the teacher invited me to participate in the competition, I didn’t know what a project is. I tried and tried. It’s not the case as we read a textbook, we just read and get clear. Instead, we need to keep learning from mistakes and get clear answers from the volunteers and teachers in the interviews. I believe I can be an expert next time because the experience I have this time.

When the teacher asked me if I wanted to attend Cyberfair, I say yes right away because I think I got the opportunity to participate in an international competition. However, it was really hard work to check out the information and make interviews again and again. I had the thought of giving up. But I saw other team members sacrifice their break time to complete each assignment. They also encouraged me to go on. So I can taste the sweet fruit of the accomplishment at last.

I used to think that I could get everything from the Internet or books. After I participated in the project, I know I can get the information from interviews and observations, which other classmates may not know. I felt very proud because, of all the students, only I saw and participated in the activity.

My idea about the volunteers has changed a lot since I participated in Cyberfair. I previously thought the volunteer work is easy and simple. But it’s not the case at all after I made an in-depth exploration of it. I get to know I need to treat everything with suspicion first then verify it in the way we did the project in order to get the right idea.

In the project, we need to make a lot of interviews and observations to get the information. Besides the training for courage and wittiness, the project exploration helped me think about the different way to get knowledge. What the teachers say or classmates say is no more the only answer, but needs to be verified for several times. I cleared all my misconception or misunderstanding about the volunteers. The project competition really benefits me a lot.

I thought it’s simple to be a volunteer. I learned that being a volunteer is a hard- working job requiring passion and vitality beginning from the time I entered the conference room to attend the growth class till the completion of the project. The volunteers have never been tired of helping others, so I admire their spirit of desiring nothing in return and great effort in learning.
