The most famous bookstore for societal activities, Hong-ya Bookstore, is located in the south of Zhuoushui River. This bookstore keeps a lot of stories describing the past of Chiayi City. All the books there are about history and humanity. The shopkeeper, Mr. Guo-xin Yu, regardless of his own bookstore, usually goes around Chiayi City to call on people and holds a lot of activities for keeping historic spots. He, sometimes, even closes his bookstore to make a speech everywhere in Chiayi City. Working as a lecturer of university, he hopes that he can arouse the citizens in Chiayi City and make them learn the importance of rebuilding the historic spots and enlighten them to put more emphasis on the culture of the historic spots. Even now, as long as the historic spots face the crisis of being torn down, we can see the striving of Mr. Guo-xin Yu easily.
