Participating in this competition, accidentally, I became the leader of this team. Trying to catch up with the schedule often makes me feel out of breath. Actually, leading these outstanding members is the origin of my pressure. not defy me no matter what. I am very clear that every one of them has special talents. As a matter of fact, they are far better than I am in writing, organizing of the group and leading the group.  However, much to my relief, they do not defy me. All of the members in this group still respect me, listen to me and work with me. That gives me a strong will. Learning and doing research with my team members is the most honorable thing to me. We have become all for one. Rushing to the computer lab has become a daily routine. Naturally, the time we spend in the computer lab is much longer than staying in the classroom. We keep researching, writing and discussing. The pressure increases as the deadline comes closer. A sense of pride appears in our hearts because our dream is finally coming truth.

After our research, the importance of the historic monument and the meaning it contains means a lot to me. Luckily, during the interview, I met many outstanding alumni. Thanks to their help and encouragement, I have more confidence.

For those who have helped us, my appreciation is beyond description. I learn that, in every field, people become outstanding because they work hard.

Cyberfair, a strange term which was only heard at the presentation ceremony. On the presentation ceremony, the students happily accepted the prize. And I clapped my hands with admirable mood.
Today, I joined in it because my friend's simple sentence "To take part in it?". Since that, I entered the Cyberfair's world. After discuss with teachers, we finally decided our topic, "Historical Landmarkd – Old Chiayi Prison".

The topic for me has another meaning. I lived near the old prison since I was a child. Every time when I passed the old prison's wall, I always think:"what inside the wall?" "If there had prisoner in it, how the appearance of them?". When I was a child, I once heard something from elders. They said there is a prison, someone was shot in the prison and someone escaped from the prison. It sounded like a horrible place. Although I lived near the prison, it doesn't cover a layer of mystery until my first visiting to the Old Chiayi Prison. It's was amazing. I usually thought that prison was a terror place. But now, I saw a land-scape of lush green meadows. After I visited the warder on prison and related people. I thought it let me know more about the old Chiayi Prison.

In a computer lesson around September, our teacher mentioned about cyberfair. I felt interested at once and together with my friend, we made a team! After a week of brain-storming, we came up with the topic, Chia-Yi Prison. At first, I thought the prison would be very noisy and prisoners escaped from the prison all the time. (Maybe I have watched too many episodes of Prison Break) As soon as we started the project, I felt totally opposite. Prisoners are all well behaved and the prison is a place to reform themselves.

I was in charge of doing research about the architecture in the prison, but later on I changed group into doing research about factories in the prison. I have learned a lot during this project, till now I can fully describe how it works in the Chia-Yi prison. I am happy to have this chance to cherish freedom through real action.

I join this research team later. In the beginning, I knew nothing about Chiayi Old Prison even if my father works as a volunteer in Chiayi Prison to be a lecturer. From the research we do, I recognize the real features of the prison. I got further knowledge about the real life of staying in the prison after several visits and interviews with the instructors there and reading the information about the prison. For example, when interviewing Instructor Chiu, we knelt down and sat on both feet for about three hours in Chiayi History Museum so that we could hardly stand up because of the numb legs. What an unforgettable experience it is!
Once we paid a visit to Chiayi New Prison in Lucao. We were a little frightened when seeing the prisoners with handcuffs and foot fetters. We visited many places there, such as the prison cell where more than ten prisoners were put in, We went into the cell and lay down in person. It was so crowded for us, ten young guys, to lie down.  Not to mention that some cells have to accommodate fourteen strong adults. When we designed the questionnaire, we needed to revise the questions for quite a few times, that made us exhausted. Furthermore, when we collected the questionnaire, we found that it was hard for us to gather the correct amount. We counted again but still found that it was much fewer than we expected. In my opinion, it seems easy to do the questionnaire, but how many we could get back is out of our control. I really learned a lesson from this experience.
In this contest, I learned many things that we couldn't get in class. I hope to promote my ability in doing researches of making the project. I really realize what I need is not only enough knowledge about the topic but also a strong enthusiasm and plentiful energy in my life when I devote myself to one research.

I joined this competition by chance because at the time they needed someone to give them a hand; as a result, I joined this team. My teammates had already done some research on the topic, "Chiayi Prison", for a long time, so I as a new mate in the team took some time to figure out what they were doing. After reading and researching into the Chiayi Prison, I got more ideas about the topic. Then, we faced some difficulties, for we didn't obtain enough information about Chiayi Prison. We had to rely on the people who knew much about it, asking them more questions about the old prison. We also spent much time contacting the instructor who had worked in the Chiayi Prison; what's more, we went to the new prison in Lukang to have the interview with an eye to knowing the difference between the old one and the new one. After that, we used the data to make a report.
The other two teammates and I in the team were responsible for the life and the questionnaire about the prisoners, and we divided "life" into some parts: daily lives, lives in prison, the recess, factories, and diets. I was assigned to the first three parts. We made a decision to start with the schedule of prisoners and then required more things from it. The interview was much more important for us, seeing that we didn't have enough data about the Chiayi Prison during Japanese colonial period and the old prison period. We deeply appreciate those who helped us at the time; we couldn't make it without them.
We aren't proud to have so much information but the process of searching information. Participating in the competition, I got many "first" experiences, such as writing the questionnaire, sending it to shops, and interviewing people. These experiences should be faced when I were a college student; however, I had experienced it already. Besides, doing the research made me learn more about historic spots, and view the process of the Chiayi Prison turning into the museum from the prison.
Through the competition, I learned a lot from team work to individual, from much information to an article, and from knowing nothing to organizing. We should thank the teacher for instructing us. She was like a guide to lead us from the bottom of the mountain to climb up the summit. We really learned a lot of things from her.

Owing to our senior schoolmates' achievement in competing in the last event, I am highly motivated to participated in this event and even expect this experience will be helpful to my future research and that taking part in this competition can train myself in my writing skills.
Originally hearing that some people in my class have signed up for this event, I thought, "Okay, maybe I can take part in it next time." However, it was purely coincidental that after a few months, a classmate came up to me and asked if I would like to take part in the event by helping them revise their draft. I thought that over for a few minutes and then I agreed. Later, it turned out that my job was not only revising the draft, it also involved my being responsible for many other things, including constantly discussing with the teacher and revising.

When first joining the team, I knew so little that I had to consult the classmates around me to make myself get to know the ropes. Because our topic is about ChiaYi Prison, during the process of my research, I learned many things that only those who have been put into jail would know. I found that the prison was not as scary as I had expected. Because some information was not accessible via the Internet or in the library, I had to interview some people to get the first-hand information, and afterwards I could put the files in order and then started to write my draft. Hence, I had to learn to list the questions that confused me, pluck up the courage to ask those questions, and write down the answers I got from others. Besides interviews, I had to read piles of references, pick the information I needed, and combine it with the information I got from the interviews, which improved my skills in organizing and analyzing and made me learn to take charge of something. I realized that what I took part in is not only an event for me, but a test of my will power and my persistence.

To join this cyberfair, I've been working very hard for half an year. It's not as easy as I thought at the beginning. I started gathering information on the internet. I knew more about the jail management system and different types of buildings in it. And then I got the chance to actually visit a jail. When I stepped into the jail, maybe it was because of the usual stereotype, I felt creepy at once. This was the first time I meet a prisoner in such a short distance. Although our teachers accompanied us, I was still scared. Nevertheless, as we spend more time with the prisoners, I see how hard they try to carry out the work in jail. It makes me believe that all human are born to be good and honest. I believe most people end up in jail because of their carelessness and depriving their freedom is the greatest penalty they should have. I hope they can all turn over a new leaf and make a plan on their future life.

During this half year, my articles have been rejected several times, to be honest, there are frustrations. But I learned to persist in my goal! This is an experience worth cherishing for a lifetime.

To join the  Taiwan School Cyberfair seemed a far-away dream to me in the past.  In my imagination, the competition looked easy and we could get a good result only through cutting and gluing.  After the process I deeply realized there are certainy all kinds of difficulties behind success.  However, it's also a good chance to challenge my ability, and to develop a wider vision.
In the beginning I was afraid that I could't do it well. But now, I learn that I need to gain new materials on my own. If what I got is from somebody, I have to
understand and arrange it. In the way , the knowledge would be mine. That is true spirit of doing research, which benefited me a lot. My job in this team is to collect historical materials and put them in order. I have done my best to accomplish the mission because I know union is strength.
During the process of making this website, I comprehended that to human begins making making mistakes is inevitable. Many reasons leads to this result. Somethings  pitiable can be found in an accursed person, and rice versa. Something pitiable can be found in an accursed person, and rice versa. Staying in the jail is not always suffering. Prisoners can learn ethiz courses to renew themselves, basic or professional skills to support their own. Our society is changing every moment, and prisoners need to get used to new life after they come back to the society.     Through this experience, I am convinced that everything is solvable and to see the bright side of life is a healthy attitude. Tomorrow is always another day.

As first as I took part in this team, I thought this would be an easy and exciting job. Unexpectedly it was so difficult. I learned a lot by making the website. Doing the research, I had to observe carefully what I hadn't paid attention to in daily life and consider the right direction neatly. Which exhausted me completely.
Our topic is Chia-yi old jail. This place looks very usual; to our surprise it has so much history behind the walls. Being a citizen of Chia-yi, I feel ashamed of knowing so little about my city.
Though some difficulties in the beginning, we tired hard to achieve each target, and cover the staff of jail management. Doing this increased our knowledge and accomplish my self-fulfillment.

"Most people are clear about other's way of life without knowing their own way" This is my conclusion. Study for the old jail is a valuable journey of seeking for our root.
