Introduction of the Journey:

The previous cycle lanes at Cisingtan and Liyu Lake were great. In order to satisfy tourists' sense of achievement, Hualien council connected the cycle lanes in these two areas to one, the total length is 35.3km. At the beginning of the journey, you can see the beautiful sceneries at Cisingtan. The uphills from Cisingtan to Siba High Ground is a little challenging, however, you will be able to see the magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and the ships or fishing boats at the port. The next is the Beibin Seashore Park which allows the tourists to rest and exercise, such as beach volleyball or walking the dogs. Continue the journey will take you to Nanbin Seashore Park where is a must-see during the evening. The night market here is packed in the evening, there are many stalls providing food, drinks and leisure activities. Next is the sunset at Huaren Levee and the country sights at the pulp factory. After passing through part of the No.9 Highway, you will reach Nanhua, where you will have an option to choose the mountain or water line of the Chuying Trail. Then you will arrive Mugua River, where you have options of going to Mukumugi or directly to Liyu Lake after passing multi-leisure Hungching Village in which you can camp, barbecue, or talk a walk. Just to remind you that there is a short uphill before arriving Liyu Lake, you will need to use a little more strength!

When I arrived Der-Yan Beach Botanical Park, I saw a vast windbreak woods. There are various animals and plants in it, sometimes snakes appear. There are so many trees that it looks like a small forest. There is a path covered in the woods, which separate into two, one is made by wood and another is sand. Both of them reach the same destination. The difference is that there are information signs along the wooden path, not the sandy one. Although they both reach the same destination, the feelings are different. It's worth to pay a visit!

Chsingtan Community:

Cisingtan is the only county-leveled scenic area in Hualien. In addition to natural sceneries, it is the best leisure spot in Hualien. There are straights formed by cliffs and a beautiful bay, full of natural sceneries. Standing at Cisingtan, you can see the Chingshui Cliff. In the evening, you can see the fireworks at Hsincheng and Chungde communities.

It was closed due to serious damage during the WWII. In 1963, a new lighthouse with 280000 candlepower was built next to the original one. Cycle lane was also built next to the lighthouses so tourists can  appreciate the beautiful sceneries along the journey, to the east, you can see the grand Pacific Ocean and many cows eating grass at the east.
