In order to get something done, we have to understand the core of this thing first. We the Sunshine Riders are going to visit the owner of Taroko cycle shop. By asking questions we will gain more knowledge about cycles.
Q: What do you think of the cycle?
A: I think the cycle is a diverse tool. It is not just a transport but also a hard exercise.
Q: What is the motor system on the cycle?
A: The first on the motor system is the pedal. It connects to the crank by the chain, then the front and back derailleurs, and a hub. Together they move the wheels with spokes.
Q: What are the general parts of a cycle?
A: Generally we can say the head tube, the top tube, the down tube, the seat tube, the seat stay, the chain stay, and the dropout.
A: Also the cogset and breaks.
Q: What is required to have a good cycling travel?
A: I'd say people, plan, time, location, and content.
Q: What is it of the "people"?
A: The plan can even divided more detailed like food, clothing, lodging, transport, education, leisure, and activity. Good place and good food are essential to attract tourists to come. Clothing is quite important on a cycling travel. More luggage will just increase the burden on a cycling trip. On a long-distanced cycling trip, you better prepare to wash your clothes. Everything you are going to bring needs to be considered thoroughly because they are going to affect your energy.
Q: What about the "plan"?
A: The plan can even divided more detailed like food, clothing, lodging, transport, education, leisure, and activity. Good place and good food are essential to attract tourists to come. Everything you are going to bring needs to be considered thoroughly because they are going to affect your energy.
Q: What about the "time"?
A: Time is to look at the date and duration of the trip and different things to prepare in different seasons. For example, people tend not to cycle to travel in winter, and in summer they might like to go to the beach. The duration of the trip affects the choice of locations you're traveling to.
Q: What about the "location"?
A: You need to know where you will start the journey, where to take a break, where to spend the night and how long you're cycling. Most of the starting point is the train station or the lodging place. The resting place mostly is the scenic spots or trails. Places you spend the night easily change the arrangement of your trip. Cycling distance varies individually.
Q: And the "content"?
A: The content is like the preparation. Everything should be prepared in advance.
Q: What was your intention to open a cycle rental shop?
A: You see different sceneries when you drive and when you cycle. How should I say this? Perhaps the feelings are different. I think I opened a cycle rental shop near Taroko was to encourage tourists to experience the nature themselves.
As we expected, we have learned a lot of information that we didn't pay attention to before in this interview, such as the structure of the cycle. After the interview, we learn that there are many different parts to form a cycle for us to ride. Also the preparation for a cycling trip surprises us, we didn't know a simple trip required so much deep knowledge. However, we have gained a lot of what we need in this interview and believe that the information will make our plan of the cycling trip better. This interview indeed is a great success.
