Wenkai Academy is now well preserved: Shan Gate is of wooden frame, and two pillars stand in front and back of it. The front hall has three-bay ridge roof and five-bay temple. Most part of Wen Shrine and Wu Temple have been redecorated during the restoration of historic sites. At present, Wen Shrine Wen has preserved Wu Shrines monuments rebuilt in 1819 and Wen Shrines monuments rebuilt in 1882 which are valuable.

The main hall is a classroom for teachers to give lectures, the wings on the both sides are classrooms for the students to study, and the back hall is a place for teachers to rest and students to ask questions during class hours.
The three buildings have special significance. Especially, Wenkai Academy is a concrete symbol of Lukang people's craze for imperial examinations, bringing up many talents for Lukang.
