Low Pressure Surf of Hotel is hosted by a passionate Japanese surfer and his wife. The surfing guests include Taiwanese and Japanese. During our visit, a group of 10 Japanese surfers happened to go surfing. The boss said that they are a group of student led by their coach to surf. |

Taitung Surf Shop & Hostel has two main surfing coaches. Bei-Bei, the famous one of the coaches, has won several International surfing matches, whose surfing experience is variously abundant. Therefore, the surfing tutorial of Bei-Bei can be a bit higher than others. Not just good at surfing, Bei-Bei also spends lots of time teaching people how to surf, especially elementary school students. She is the driving force of the surfing development in Donghe. |

Surfing spots in Donghe: |
The best surfing spots in Taitung are around Donghe river mouth and Jinzun Harbor. Besides, the beach not far from Donghe, Duli, is also a great spot suitable for beginners learning how to surf. The beach of Donghe is rock shore, where the strong waves in good shape are formed during the northeast monsoon in winter. The best time for surfing is ebb and flood times. As compared with surfing spots in other places, Donghe is rarer known by the people. But it still attracts the professional surfers from local and worldwide. On the Highway No. 11, we can see the surfers driving a car or scooters loaded with surfboards, heading to the beach at Donghe.
Since the surfing level of Donghe is regarded as advanced, most visiting surfers are skillful ones. Paved with the cobble stones on the seabed, the wave can be pushed toward the shore smoothly, forming a steady barrel on the sea. For the reason of this, Taiwan Open of Surfing has been hosted at Jinzun Harbor every winter since 2013.
