Mind maps of Surfing in Donghe |
As the topic is decided as surfing, we began to search the information about surfing on the internet, such as surfing videos, surfing tuition, surfing shops, and etc. We shared every discovered material to each other to have everyone own basic knowledge about surfing and then started to discuss the content of the project with the teacher.
The teacher told us that since the surfing is the chosen topic and Donghe is the most popular spot for surfing in Taitung, we should combine surfing and tourism in our project. The teacher and we discuss the research schedule by the mind maps, arranging the materials to search and planning surfing tuition and experiencing.Then investigate the tourism resources in Donghe, interview the surfer and the owner in the surfing shop. At the end we are supposed to manage a traveling package of surfing in Donghe. We were so surprised that we can really go into the water by attending this project. It makes us really excited and lookforward to our field trip of the project.
From then on, we utilized every noon break at the school to survey the concerning information in the computer classroom. We collaborated a lot and watched over the progress of each other, because we wanted to learn surfing as soon as possible. On the surfing class, we listened very carefully to Coach Hsieh’s lecture about open water area and the basic movement of surfing. Everyone was nervous but concentrated, due to only one out of seven students capable of swimming. Fortunately, Coach Hsieh told us even non-swimmer can do surfing. This made us more confident about the following surfing experience. So we practiced really hard. On the day to surf in Duli, we finally realized how fun surfing is. Though we flipped many whip outs and had lots of sips of seawater, but we really enjoy every second during surfing. We used to eat Donghe dumpling often, but we seldom understand Donghe. Following the teachers to visit the scenic spot, the gourmet and the B&Bs in Donghe, we became aware of many goods in Donghe eventually. Besides, we also consulted some surfers, which was really beneficial to us.
