        Taiwan is an island country. Expect for Nantou, the other cities and counties are near the sea. Besides, every city and county has a place for surfing. Jinshan District of New Taipei City is considered as the surfing hearth of Taiwan, where was originally gathered with surfing hobbyist. Becoming famous by its reputation, more surfing learner came here to experience surfing. But the surfing quality was affected by the crowd. The professional surfer turned out to find other surfing spots.
        As Hsuehshan Tunnel opened to traffic, the surfing trend at Wushi Harbor and Twin Lion Beach in Yilan has been prospered increasingly. The rocky seabed of Pacific Ocean leads to a variety shape of wave along the east coast of Taiwan. During typhoon season, strong barrel waves occurred at Twin Lion Beach is the dream wave for professional surfers to challenge.
        On the other hand, many surfing spots are also located at thesouthern Taiwan, especially Kenting, Pintung. With various water activities and long developed surfing culture, Jialeshuei is the vital source of surfing in southern Taiwan. The estuarine geographybrings about good swells of wave in four seasons. Moreover, in the eastern Taiwan, tons of surfing giants gathers at the river mouth of DongheRiver.
