Our project aimed to investigate how Sangjuku Landfill was transformed to Shanshuilu Ecological Park. The more we contacted Shanshuilu, the more impressions and touches we had because it reflected people’s effort and progress in environmental protection. In addition to telling the story of Shanshuilu, we also concluded some findings below.

Although some tourists considered the inconvenience of transportation, all of them loved the green, open environment where they could enjoy themselves with their family or friends. Overall, through our website, several points are conveyed. First, we appreciate Chiuchuang villagers’ philosophy, attitude, measures, and prospect of working for environmental protection. Second, we believe that residents inside and outside the community have deeper understanding and acknowledge management of environmental protection. Third, the authorities can do more marketing—making their effort familiar to the public such as improving the transportation to Shanshuilu Eco-Park, so that people will go there and value environmental protection. Fourth, we found that there are many interesting recreation devices and activities and tasty beverages such as Osmanthus flower tea around here in this community. At last, we want to say that the implementation of environmental protection is possible, but it needs to be more concerns.

Doing this project indeed makes a difference in our life. It helps us develop the needed knowledge to perform a research-based task. Next, because of our paper (our presentation in class), our classmates also know more about Shanshuilu Eco-Park, the green world ecological park in Chiuchuang, Taiwan. In the beginning, most of our classmates like us did not really know Shanshuilu Eco-Park. If any knows, they just know it is a recreation place to hang around there, not one of the environmental actions and outcomes. Most importantly, before doing the project, the concepts of environmental protection for many people like us seem to be words in a textbook only. Now, it is crystal clear and concrete. Some other students in our school even want to do a follow-up task. All in all, we, small potatoes, hope to use our project to help people comprehend the facts and methods of environmental protection; meanwhile, we hope to promote the outstanding Shanshuilu Eco-Park in the small village and further educate the public the concepts of environmental protection, discovering the voice for natural world.

Now, we can loudly say, “Shanshuilu Eco-Park can be a model of themed parks with environmental restoration and land use management!”
