Shanshulu Eco-Park is built on the theme in view of the importance attached to environmental protection and recovery, so everything inside the park comes from natural resources such as the former biogas power generation and today’s solar power, also named as the “Sunflower Clock.” The surface of the clock is a combination of solar panels placed to look like a flower, giving it the benefit of showing the time and beauty. The power generated also offers the lighting apparatus such as the park’s street lights.

The fact is that an American university design team has already begun to devise a blueprint for a walkway made of solar panels. The energy generated from these panels power the street lights at night. This design not only needs to be endurable, but also has to face long term friction. In the end they did succeed and are now researching on how to use it on trellis to produce more power. Shanshulu Eco-Park is also paying close attention the new creation because if people can exploit natural energy such as solar power, geothermal energy, wind power, and so on, wouldn’t it reduce the burden on mother nature?
