  The progression of naming the current Natural Green Park.

 Sangjuku is pronounced as /sangjuku/ which means “Boar Hole Cave” in Chinese. It is said that the earlier residents found many of the wild boars clustering in the area, so they gave it the name. However, for many people, it is known as Sangjuku Landfill, a burial site. Later, adhere to the policy, this site was transformed as a natural ecology park. At that time, the chief of the village and the officials decided to make a big improvement for this place so that they voted for a new name. During the procession of giving the new name, the mayor thought of using the name Sangjuku continuously and only changed the word “landfill” to Eco-Park. However, the chief of the village disagreed with it because she wanted to change people’s concept of this waste burial site of Sangjuku. Consequently, Shanshuilu, which means mountain and water are forever green, was nominated and selected because of the highest votes. According of the chief of the village, the name Shanshuilu comes from the poem “Fisherman” written by Liu, Zongyuan in Tang Dynasty, China. In Liu’s poem, the poet used the words Shanshuilu (green mountains and river) to describe a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, so the chief hoped that the mountains and rivers in Shanshuilu can be forever green and people can enjoy the pleasant, relaxing happiness in the eco-environment here. Below is the poem.

       The old fisherman rests on the rock off the West Coast at night;

        In the morning, he dips out clear water from the river and uses bamboo as firewood.

       When the morning fog disappears and the sun rises, he is nowhere to be seen;

        What is heard is his singing voice, resounding through green mountains and rivers.

        Turning back to watch the horizon of the sky, he seems to see water flowing down in the middle;

      The absent-minded clouds on the rocks chase each other.

Nowadays, in part of Shanshuilu Eco-Park, there's some waste treatment, especially for the big furniture decomposing. However, it is not a waste burial ground as it used to. In the park, there are no end of game facilities which are composed of many environmental knowledge and some environmental devices of art. On holidays, occasionally, there're some activities held by related organizations. The most discrepancy between the past and the present is now there is more thrilling botany instead of no end of rubbish in Sangjuku.
