I am Jian, Rui-shan. I am very out-going and love to associate with people. I also enjoy epicurean delicacies and admire beautiful sceneries. That is why I suggested doing the topic, Shanshuilu, which is a beautiful place. Doing the project, from picking the topic to tidying up the last touches, all required our full attention.

My team members and I indeed had some arguments and barriers during the process, but in the end we conquered them all one by one. I recall that our team once paid a visit to the burial grounds. It rained heavily that day and we got lost in the mountains. It took a huge amount of teamwork to find the way back step by step, and in the end we did find our destination. This event spurred me to put more effort into this project. I am glad to have experienced such a special event in my high school life, to learn more than just what is on textbooks. I hope that through our project, more and more people can learn about the environment around us and help each other to make this world a better place.

Through doing this project, I learned that environmental remediation work is not only a problem to a particular group but also an issue that everyone suppose to pay attention to. I also learned the importance of team work and I had to paid attention to my progress to coordinate with team members. From the beginning’s topic choosing, topic searching to the integration of the whole structure, these are the experience that I have never had before. Every team member’s hard work is a significant part of the whole team, we’ll never finish this research without the hard work. I appreciate our instructors and my team members!

I am Xiaoyun Liu. I like to learn people from different places, from how they live, eat, wear and do. Doing this project made me not only know people but also the place we live. During this project, I chose to take up the job as art designer. I want to particularly thank my teammates for their patience on waiting for me to finish my work. From this project I realize that teamwork is really something that you cannot underestimate.

I am Luo, MingRen. I like history and have enjoyed seeking knowledge and analyzing it since my childhood. In this project, I am mainly responsible for taking charge of investigating the part of historical geography and interviewing the tourists and residents. Compared with my team members, I am introversive. However, I conquered it and finally finished the project.

Perhaps our project is not that perfect, but I did learn a lot from doing this project-based research. First of all, I learned to show appreciation, I have to thank those who helped us during our research. Second, I learned the essence of team work “,” including designing the project, building the website, conducting our research, or translating our project into English. Third, it is the learning attitude. I did my best to keep a positive attitude and motivation even though facing obstacles. Fourth, I am happy getting to know all the professional information and broadening my horizons about life. It made me acknowledge how little I am amid the endless sea of knowledge. I must be strong and willing to learn more.

“Sometimes you just have to do something foolish during high school life.” This was my belief before I first entered this research team. Knowing that doing the project would take much of my leisure time, with a strong will, I still chose to go down this path! Till now I have never regretted making this choice. I cherished every step we took in our research, every minute I had with our team and moreover, every opportunity I took part in this project! I am both honored and delighted to participate in this project. I give my greatest gratitude to our team and those who have helped us to succeed in the end.

My name is Eunice Lee, who is fond of female magazines, alternative rock bands and English. This is the second time I participated in doing a project. Last year when I was the first year of high school student, I was recruited in the team. At that time, I knew very little about research, so most of the time I was responsible for a project’s translation and something trivial. However, participating in the research totally pushed me out of the comfortable zone and made a difference in me.

In addition to winning a big award, I have to say it was an amazing experience seeing my improvement not only in the professional knowledge but also in translation skill. Most importantly, I gained another kind of thinking mode. This time, I joined doing the project again. After the project, I can certainly say I will put more attention to environmental protection and love Shanshuilu Eco-Park and the like than before because it’s indeed an incredible place. Many thanks to my instructors and my team members, without you, I wouldn’t learned so much.:))

I am Kevin. I like sports and playing the guitar. I also like searching different files of knowledge in books in the library.

Again, I’m honored to join in the team especially helping translating the project in English. I not only learn the knowledge and a specialized field of environment protection, but also the experience working with a team. Sure our team had some difficulties every now and then, but with comprehension of our team and help from our instructor Mrs. Chang, we were able to conquer anything standing in our way!

After participating the project, I totally understand that you have more responsibility as you have more power. Many of my classmates said that I am asking for excessive unnecessary job to do, but when I ponder from another angle, I realize that all I have done not only for the competition or assignment but the most focal point, experience. What makes people erudite and encyclopedic?  Irrefutably, it is experience. Many people are lack of motivation to try, but when they think heedfully, if somebody told them to do something, he or she does not strongly demand them to succeed, then what're they afraid of ? All somebody wants you to attain is experience. So, I enjoy doing it.

I am William. Like most teenagers, I am fond of hanging around with friends and dislike homework. But when my teacher invited me and asked me if I could participate in doing an English project. Hesitated, but I was in, so I got a chance to learn what a thesis project is. During writing the idea in English, I faced some difficult, such as exactly expressing myself in English and the definitions of environmental issues. I found that there are a lot of words that I don’t know. In addition to professional knowledge, I found I have the limitation of vocabulary. After doing this project, I realize I have to work harder on my English and read more. Many thanks to our instructor who gave me a chance to learn something new in my high school life.

I am Julia. I am a second-year high school student who loves experiencing and learning different things. Before participating in this project, I thought it’s difficult and I couldn’t do it well. Indeed, at the beginning, I almost gave up. However, I changed my mind because I thought it was a big challenge for me. People always say that challenges bring opportunities. Therefore, I kept doing it.

During the process, there are many words and sentences I didn’t know how to express or translate in English. I did not know much about professional knowledge of environmental protection although I, like many people, know it important. At that time, the voice emerged again, “Give up! Give up!.” But I couldn’t. If I give up, I would be an irresponsible person and everyone would distain me for my weak willpower. Finally, I insisted, I check numerous English websites and dictionaries and read the information. Then, after submitting the draft to my teacher, I was worried and nervous a lot because I was afraid to disappoint my teacher. In fact, when my teacher returned the draft to me and gave me a lot of suggestion, I felt frustrated. But I told myself it’s just an experience, and I also learned a lot. I am happy that I insist doing the project. If there is a chance in the future, I believe I can do it better.
