At the Highway Rest Area

Hsin Tung Yang operates many rest areas, and they are the Guanxi, Nantou, and Qingshui rest area. Every rest area has a topic and a theme, and the rest area is decorated accordingly.

The Qingshui Rest Area

1.Theme

Using “Futuristic Harbor” as the theme, the Qingshui rest area has set up a large mast on its roof. This makes the whole rest area appear as a rest area that floats in the ocean. Hsin Tung Yang spent two hundred billion dollars for the renovation of this project for the purpose of creating a rest area with a unique style.

2.Special Location

（1）At the special location, there are nine solar power panels, and it moves with the sun like the way sunflowers do; this is also how it got its name. The solar power panel is the best way to produce maximum energy, and it has now become a special tourist spot of the rest area.

（2）There are many different kinds of fish inside the Qingshui aquarium, and everyone can go there for a visit.

（3）The Qingshui night pearl is a big outdoor ball of light, and inside the ball, there are LED lights that can display 29,988 variations of light displays.

The Guanxi Rest Area

1.Theme

Using the Hakka and Guanxi grass jelly as the theme of the rest area, it includes environmentally friendly ideas into nature, helping those who pass by to relax.

2.Special Location

（1）The sunflower-shaped solar power panel is almost the same as the solar panels; the only difference is that it is in the shape of a sunflower, but it has the same functions.

（2）The Children’s Valley Playground has many pieces of soft padding on the floor. This can ensure children’s safety during play. Much of the equipment at the playground is provided for children to use, and I had been here many times as a child myself.

（3）The 3R health park uses materials that are recycled for its construction, and people can rest here and learn more about recycling.

The Nantou Service Area

1.Theme

This service area uses the aboriginal culture as its theme, and it provides the local delicacies of Tainan for people to come and enjoy. There is a beautiful name for this place originating from the language of the Bunun tribe called “LAMUNGAN.”

2.Special Location

（1）At the Aboriginal Cultural Art Museum, there are some artifacts on display, showing the tools and equipment used by the people who had previously lived in the area. A display of these items helps people to learn more about the local culture.

（2）The Bunun Lookout is an area decorated similarly to an aboriginal tribal area. It is a place where people can enjoy beautiful scenery, and it is also a great photo spot for many professional photographers.

Twenty percent of Hsin Tung Yang’s business profit comes from highway rest stops, and this reflects the significance of national highway business to Hsin Tung Yang. Such important highway business location can cost a lot of money to keep up with, but what are those buildings? According to the Hsin Tung Yang’s Assistant Manager, the firm has these goals for the future:

1.For a long time, the Qingshui rest area’s Qingshui aquarium only has one type of fish, the skate. Even though there are plenty of skate and the fish is big, visitors might begin to think it is boring after a long time. Therefore, Hsin Tung Yang decided to put in other creatures for visitors’ enjoyment.

2.Hsin Tung Yang wants to purchase the I-Mei Foods Company right to operate at the Xihu rest area and have it join Hsin Tung Yang’s big family. When Hsin Tung Yang gains the right to operate at the Xihu rest area in the future, the workload of the staff will increase, too. From the rest area’s theme, its interior design to the products to be sold, all of these details will require careful decisions, so many staff members will be needed if the firm gets the Xihu rest area as a selling site.

3.Currently, Hsin Tung Yang has fifty-five direct selling stores, and they plan to open more stores in the future. When Hsin Tung Yang accumulates more experience and money, it will open their store overseas and give foreigners and Taiwanese who live abroad a chance to enjoy Hsin Tung Yang’s food.

4.For three consecutive years in a row, Hsin Tung Yang has received the “Golden Thumb Award”. This public recognition not only benefits Hsin Tung Yang’s brand image, but it also serves as recognition of Hsin Tung Yang’s hard work. The firm wants to win the award in the following year as well. To do this, Hsin Tung Yang will have to keep improving its technology and always keep its consumers’ preferences as a priority. Also, they need to maintain the food quality or the firm’s reputation may suffer.
