Teaching Experience in Night School: one Year

Current title: Grade 1 Class A homeroom teacher

I am teaching Chinese in night school. There are about 20~30 students in class. Most of them are 50~60 years old. Because many of their native language is Taiwanese, I would use Taiwanese to teach or to communicate with them. Sometimes certain action is needed too. It helps to impress them and make learning easier.

Because of their age, students in the night school tend to move and act slower. I would verify the task according to their ability. For example, for those who act very slowly, they will just need to complete four words instead of twenty like others.

Students in the night school cherish their learning opportunities very much. Therefore, they have very good learning attitude—being eager to learn, paying attention in class and handing in their homework on time always.

My advice for the future of the night school is to add some practical and interesting lessons which are more useful to their daily life.
