Teaching Experience in Night School: three Years

Current title: Subject teacher—P.E and Social Study

I am teaching P.E, social study and music now. There are about 30 students in my class. Most of them are already grandmothers and grandfathers. The number of present students every time is very different. They tend to be absent when the weather is bad.

Because students in night school are all adults, they have opinions toward teachers’ teaching. I will communicate with them too. The most challenging part for the teachers is students are in different level and coming from different culture. It’s hard to select the perfect teaching material.

In my social study class, I usually give them some reading comprehension articles to help them gain the ability of reading, writing and listening. In the P.E class, we had golf. It is a good sport for the elder because it is not too exciting. Music class is always everybody’s favorite.

Students in night school come to school for pleasure. They do not like to compete with each other like students in elementary school. Instead, they are for making new friends, and learning to read and to write.
