17.Performing the Ceremony of Main
Sacrifice for the first time
First, the ¡§Music¡¨ Students strike the ¡§Jin¡¨ Drum and the ¡§Yong¡¨ Bell and announce loudly, ¡§Play Peaceful and Harmonic song!¡¨Later, the ¡§Dance¡¨ Students begin to dance with the song and the music on the square.Because of the narrow square, only thirty-six ¡§Dance¡¨ Students (the ancient rule is for sixty-four Students) can perform.Each ¡§Dance¡¨ Student has a short bamboo pipe on one hand and three pheasant feather on the other hand, dancing slowly and gracefully with the tempo of the music.The dances are beginning, and the Main Sacrifice Officer walks to the Dacheng Hall to perform the Ceremony of Main Sacrifice: Offering the white silks (the gods¡¦ money) and offering the wine.Then the Officer bows for three times, and the Ceremony was finished.
18.Performing the Ceremony of Secondary Sacrifice for the first time
The Secondary Sacrifice Officers walk to the Eastern and the Western Wings and perform the Ceremony of Secondary Sacrifice.The process is the same with Main Sacrifice.
19.Proclaiming the Sacrificial Writing
The ¡§Music¡¨ Students announce loudly, ¡§Stop the music!¡¨The emcee announces, ¡§All stand up!¡¨
20.Bowing
The emcee announces, ¡§Bow again!Bow thrice!¡¨All Officers bow by the order.The ¡§Music¡¨ Student announces, ¡§Play the music!¡¨Later, the music of the drum and the bell and the dances all begin until the end of the music.And then the Student announces, ¡§Stop the music!¡¨ |
