Interview
1.Why are you interested in bird watching?
Many of my mountain lovers are experts in bird research, and I follow them to watch the birds. The second reason is that my child met Ms. Shu-Chen Chuang while studying at Changan Elementary School. She is also a bird master. When she took the class students to watch birds, I followed them to watch birds.
2.Which bird watching places would you recommend us to go to?
I would recommend Daan Forest Park, Botanical Gardens that can be reached by public transportation. In elementary schools, middle schools and university campuses like National Taiwan University, there are many types of plants, many types of birds.
3.What should I pay attention to when watching birds?
We should keep a calm heart when watching birds, enjoy the birds condition the nature offers to us. Do not deliberately seduce it. I know that some people will play with the sounds to see a specific bird, and even bring the loved feed to seduce it. I think it’s not very good. We should follow the fate, wherever we go, whatever birds we will watch, we should watch it quietly, and do not get too close, because some birds have a strong territoriality.
4.What is your most impressive bird watching process?
I like large birds most. It is difficult to see the birds on the tree with the naked eye so it is necessary to bring a telescope. But there is a bird that we can see without a telescope. It is a Syrmaticus Mikado, commonly known as Mikado Pheasant. I finally saw Mikado Pheasant after going to Dasyueshan four times. I remember waiting near Tianchi at about four o'clock in the morning, and it was very cold at that time. Suddenly the sun shed light, and the mist dispersed. The Mikado Pheasant was in front of me! And it was more than one, which surprised me! I just sat there and admired it, and they were not afraid of people. This was the most impressive time I ever felt.
5.In addition to the Taiwan barbet on the Changan Elementary School campus, are there any other bird species?
Tiger bitterns had built a nest on the tree above the garbage dump in our school for two years. I took the students to see it. It was the first year after the nest was built, and the old nest was continued to be used for brooding in the second year. There are many trees in Changan Elementary School, and many bird babies are born on it.
6.What bird species can you observe at Changan Elementary School all year round?
Most of the permanent birds can be seen all year round, like the three urban treasures: Light-vented bulbul, sparrows and warbling white-eyes. The most commonly seen on Changan campus is the Tiger bittern, which almost stays on our campus to breed the next generation. There are also many Asian glossy starling appearing in our schools. While the warbling white-eye was eating the nectar of kapok, the Asian glossy starling flew in, and the warbling white-eye was scared away. The white-eye bird was scared away. The Asian glossy starling an alien species that would invade the area of our native birds and take away foods. People love to raise these nice birds, but they only raise them for a while and discarded in the wild, causing them to flood and cause a crisis of native birds.

7.How to get along with birds peacefully?
Respect their environment, appreciate them, do not approach them too close, do not invade them, do not deliberately feed, and do not deliberately seduce. Sometimes we encounter injured birds or very small birds accidentally fall off the nest, we must have basic concept of caring for injured birds. Don't feed and hurt it, this is the best way we keep with birds.
Conclusion
We can actually enjoy the birds without our eyes. It is also a joy to listen to the singing of the birds with our ears. Changan Elementary School has a lot of birds on campus, which will become a valuable asset of our campus. It also tells us that we want to get along with these delicate guests. Don’t forget that environmental conservation is important.
