I believe that the experience in interacting with
indigenous children in Hualien had a real effect on Ms Chang.
I
can tell from her videos that her way of teaching is to-the-point and
clear. I want to know if the children in Hualien are using
the
Junyi platform.

Mr Radiant Jiang works in the Marketing
team. He
was the key to our school’s adoption of the Junyi
platform.
I think the platform is important. Without the platform, a
lot of
us would find learning very tiresome.

They do not have handsome pay cheques, but they
still devote their
energy in running the Junyi platform. I want to be like
them. When I
grow up and am capable of making money, I will make donation to the
children who need help and provide them with a good learning
environment.

I admire Mr Radiant Jiang for his
devotion. He gave up a career that
keeps him in cozy environment and chose to move to Hualien to study to
become a teacher. If I were him, I would have chosen a
wealthy career

The Junyi platform is one of the
sources of information to city
children like us. However, it is something that improves the
learning
environment for children in rural areas. It takes some ardent
people
like Mr Radiant Jiang to be there and teach them. Also, there
has to
be resources for platform development, computers, internet
connection.
Fortunately, I don’t have to go through an ordeal before getting hold
of these tools. I should study harder and become someone like
Mr
Radiant Jiang.

Mr Radiant Jiang is the best
storyteller among the interviewees.
However, his stories were too long. We couldn’t finish the
list of
questions. We only did four. Next time, I will
simplify the questions
for Mr Jiang who would more likely to give us concise answers.

According to Ms Fang-ting Chang, Junyi wishes
that
schools use the Junyi platform in school lessons since some families in
rural areas do not have computer related tools at home. On
the
other hand, every school in Taiwan is equipped with a computer
classroom. I am lucky to live in Taipei City that provides
ample
amount of education resources.

Through this interview, I eventually
figure out how
children in rural areas are supposed to use the Junyi
platform.
They access the platform in school instead of at home, since there are
computer equipment in every school. Their teachers keep them
company while they use the platform. Junyi wants to reach out
to
teachers who would subsequently adopt the platform for use in
school.

Yung-Cheng Chang
Somebody once mentioned about
positioning Junyi as
benefactor of children. However, Ms Fang-ting Chang sees it
the
other way. If one wants to be benefactor, he or she may
eventually turn out to the burden of children. She dares not
to
become one. She just wants to show up and be there for a
child
when the child has an unsolved question and needs Junyi.

I was a bit nervous when I
did the interview
with Ms Fang-ting Chang. I didn’t speak loud
enough. I have
to speak louder and mustn’t look at the interview script next
time. I can do better.

Ms Fang-ting Chang makes complicated
things look
well-sorted. I believe such ability requires knowledge of
huge
number of expressions and relationships between expressions.
Once
one is endowed with such skill, he can apply it in a lot of areas.

Hao-Ching Chih
Ms Fang-ting Chang explained down to
details the
term “project teacher” to us. Before she went beyond the
scope of
the question, she stopped naturally. Her answers were
to-the-point and didn’t take too much time. I wish I can be
the
interviewer the next time when we interview her again.
