Mr
Ray Lu, CEO(1) |

Shih-You Huang
During the interview, the CEO of Junyi told us 2
key
points. The first is that we have to study more.
Secondly,
task should be finished the day or the week it comes up. If
you
still have questions, ask others until you finally solve
them. I
think he is right. If you truly want something, you would put
effort on it otherwise there is hardly anything that can force you to
do so.

Mr Lu used to be a brilliant doctor
who changed
his career and joined the education foundation. Few people
could
make that kind of decision. I think he is a great
person.
He mentioned that about his experience in the terminal patient
ward. Medical care has its limitation. It is his
belief
that for the terminal patients, it is not about curing but fulfilling
the wish about bridging the patient and his family. I agree
with
him.

I’ve learned a lot during interview with Mr Ray
Lu, CEO
of Junyi Academy. In addition to interview skill, I’ve
obtained a
lot of knowledge regarding the Junyi platform. Although our
teacher gave us positive remark on our performance, there are still
quite a lot of room for improvement. We had to read interview
script while having the interview with Mr Lu. I think that
was
impolite. I wish I don’t have to look at the script next time.

After listening to the audio record of the
interview, I
think me and Yong-cheng Jhang did well in the interview.
Also, I
found a number of flaws in the interviews done by other teammates
including low volume of the audio record, interview script got taken
away by interviewee. I had mine too. My intonation
was too
flat. I have to work on it.

Mr Ray Lu is young and energetic. He is
quite
difference from other CEOs appeared on TV. It must have been
an
honour to get admitted to Faculty of Medicine of National University of
Taiwan. Being a doctor is a wealthy career but Mr Lu left the
career to pursue his vision. He enjoys a high degree of
contentment from helping others.
I want to make him a road model for his
openness for challenges and courage to pursue his vision.

Mr Ray Lu has a different charm from
others.
He brought a notebook computer, a notebook and a pen. He
seemed
to be going to an important meeting or lecture when he entered the
room. I was so happy that he considered this interview
important. He answered nicely and provided details and
metaphors. I believe he has to do a lot of explanation in
similar
manner in meetings. I look forward to another opportunity to
do
similar interviews.

Operations
Management, Ms Flora Hsieh(2) |
|
Shih-You Huang
Ms Flora Hsieh, head of Operations Management is
very
experienced in financial management. I learned during the
interview that the board of Directors and commercial enterprises are
the key financial supporter of Junyi Academy. If I get to
meet
her again, I sure would like to know where the money is spent
mostly. Computers or videos?

Many members of the Junyi crew gave up their
previous jobs
to join Junyi Academy. There must be a charm in the Junyi
family. Ms Hsieh has always wanted to become a warm and
influential figure. Junyi would be a stepping stone for
achieving
that.

Ms Flora Hsieh, head of Operations Management,
wants to
try out new thing from time to time. Her father wanted her to learn
something different or visit the country to see animals and the
nature. She has got a lot of positive qualities.
Apart from
wanting to see and try out new things, she is considerate. I
want
to make her a road model and become an influential figure
too.
Just like her.

I don’t think her choice is reasonable.
If one gets
used to a position, it would not be easy to change his line of
business. However, her attitude is definitely
admirable. I
think her choice is reasonable. One gets to experience
different
lines of business and learn the corresponding practices.
Anyway,
I admire her persistence.

Ms Flora Hsieh is one of a kind. She started her
career
in a bank and eventually joined Junyi Academy as head of Operations
Management. They are difference positions in different
domains. It takes guts to leave the cozy environment and
wealthy
career. The position in Junyi requires benevolence and
patience. She has to sort out a lot of issues including
managing
and responding to user feedbacks. Comparing to her job in
banking, the current position is tedious and exciting. She
was
very serious about our questions during the interview. In my
opinion, she seized this opportunity to get her concepts and messages
across to us. I was impressed and want to make her a road
model. I wish I can be as positive and vigorous as her.

Although our teacher gave us positive
remarks about
the interviews, he did point out some areas where we must
improve. He told me that I should have sat properly during
the
interview. I wasn’t serious enough and acted like I was in a
conversation. I was playing during the rehearsal and the
preparation of the interviews. The post-interview works were
really tiring which is why I don’t like interviews.
