Interviewing Mr. Hsu |
Explaining the machine room |
Q1: Could you tell us your title,
work experience and content?
A1: I am the inspector at the renewable energy bureau
at Taiwan Power Company for about three years. My job is to
maintain whole wind fields.
Q2: How did you get into Taiwan Power Company? What
qualifications or expertise do you have?
A2: We are the technicians who pass the individual
admission of Taiwan Power Company and every technician is
all related to mechanism.
Q3: Is there any risk around your working place? If
so, how do you reduce risks?
A3: We might get electric shock and fall down during
work because sometimes we have to climb up the derrick. To
prevent from danger, we have to wear the safe equipment to
protect ourselves. We also have to drink water when we are
working in the nacelle since summer is hotter than other
season. Without enough water may cause the heat stroke.
There is another way to reduce the risk. Always notice the
surroundings and work after the voltage test.
Q4: What is the challenge when working? How do you
dealt with it?
A4: When we get into the flow fan, it is too hot for
me and always sweeps a lot. I think this is the biggest
challenge for me.
Q5: What is your sense of accomplishment during work?
Why?
A5: I can see the beautiful sights when standing on
the top of wind drive generator. I can feel wind and sun and
get sunburn up there, but it is cool anyway.
