Power Sending ＼ Transmission

After the power plant generates electricity, it passes through the high-voltage power transmission, then depressurizes into the downtown, and finally distributes power to every general user.

In Taiwan, water power plants usually are located in the mountains and fired-power plants are usually in seashore, so it is necessary to transmit electricity via pylons and grids. At first, the towels are separated straight, but now the route becomes more complicated, and the separation is different from before.

Transmitting electricity is a much difficult and hard work job. In 1940s, east of Taiwan lacks of electricity, so pylons are necessary to transmit electricity from west of Taiwan to the east, it is called, “west to east grid” which is built by Japanese first but constructed by Taiwanese. Most of them are located in the mountains. The material of the pylons is transmitted by people. Each cable, pole, and iron shelf have to be constructed without any separation. In order to make the electricity stable, staff cannot cut it, so that there is about twenty people deal with it together. After the construction, the company still has to patrol and maintain the cable and keep the same electricity quality.

Towers for transmitting electricity

There are two kinds of foundation when constructing the electric pylons- deep foundation and single pile. When straining the wire, the worker may use nitrogen transmitter and other tools to help. If it is in a specific environment, they even have to take the ship or bamboo raft to across the river to strain wire. After the wire is set up, in order to keep the transition work smoothly, they also have to set voltage insulator.
The material of tower pylons is very heavy, and most of them are set in the mountains. If it rains, it is much dangerous for the workers to build. Even accidents may happen, for example, it may falls down. We truly have to thank for the staff after knowing that they spend their life to make our life better.
