Hsin Tung Yang is working on marketing Taiwan, and it uses the airport and the highway rest areas to do so. It also uses Taiwan's delicious food to market its great delicacy. Let us see how Hsin Tung Yang markets Taiwan!
Hsin Tung Yang currently manages Terminal One of the Taoyuan International Airport. Hsin Tung Yang sells many Taiwanese specialties, including aboriginal ornaments and local food products. There is also a seasonal Taiwanese exhibition. All of the Taiwanese specialty products are loved by tourists.
In the food court of the airport, there are plenty of Taiwanese local food products, and there are also some foreign foods. Every tourist can taste these Taiwanese local food products and enjoy the delicacy of the country. There is also a Hakka restaurant – the Zhen Hao Shi Tavern, which is managed by Hsin Tung Yang. It offers different kinds of Hakka cuisines, such as the Hakka-style chicken, braised pork with pickled mustard greens, fried water snowflakes, and braised tofu, etc.
Before passing through the customs at the airport, everyone will pass through the duty free shops. When you look up, you can see a sentence on the wall, “See you, Taiwan!” The sign is placed there in the hope that every visitor can leave with a good impression of Taiwan. Currently, Hsin Tung Yang manages three highway rest areas: the Quigshui highway rest area, the Guanxi highway rest area, and the Nantou highway rest area. At these highway rest areas, Hsin Tung Yang is actively promoting local cultures, and there are different kinds of themes. The Qingshui highway rest area is promoting environmental protection and the theme is marine life, and this is Hsin Tung Yang’s most profitable location. The Guanxi highway rest area is promoting Hakka culture, and the theme is the tong blossom. The theme at the Nantou highway rest area is the aboriginal culture, and it is promoting Taiwanese tea culture.
Hsin Tung Yang’s management of the highway rest areas is different from that of the airport’s way of management. The management goal of the airport is to market and show the best part of Taiwan to the whole world; however, the management goal of the highway rest areas is to promote the local cultures.
After our visit and interview, we learned about how Hsin Tung Yang markets and promotes its plan. It sets the airport and the highway rest areas as the best places to promote Taiwanese culture. Hsin Tung Yang is actively promoting and marketing Taiwanese culture in hopes of bringing the best part of Taiwan to the whole world; it allows the Taiwanese culture to be preserved and passed on to future generations.
