BCC’s HQ
at Jen-ai Road Period
In 1972, BCC moved its HQ fromNew Park toJen-ai Plaza,
located at the intersection ofJen-ai
Road andChianguo
S. Road inTaipei.
The HQ remained in operation there until it moved to the current address onSongjiang Road in 1999.
This period is called “Jen-ai Road
Period”.
During this period, TV became
the dominant media. The economy ofTaiwan was growing exponentially
and the society was transforming from agricultural to industrial/commerce. The
political and societal condition changed drastically as ex-presidents Chiang
Kai-Shek and Chiang Jing-Guo passed away. The ban on forming political parties
and founding newspapers were revoked. The presidency became a position elected
by popular votes. The marshal law was repealed. New stations were popping up
like grass after spring rain. The staff at BCC followed the philosophy of
“Making daily improvements” and made significant changes such as pursuing
different markets by performing professional categorizing and presented News
Broadcasting Network, Agricultural Broadcasting Network and Music Broadcasting
Network and fully utilize the advantages of different stations. Most of the BCC
branches were moved to new locations and new equipment were updated in order to
continue to its dominance in competitions. In addition, BCC has diversified its
business and investment. But most importantly it has performed many charitable
events such as BCC Garden of Compassion Social Aid, the organized effort of92l earthquake donation drive, becoming in
charge of Taiwan Baseball Association and Archery Association and so on. BCC
has made multiple contributions outside broadcasting and did its best to bring
about good influence in many areas.
During this period, as China
Broadcasting and International Broadcasting were separated from the main BCC
body, the number of employees reduced from more than 1,000 to over 500.

The history of BCC is
equivalent to the history of radio broadcasting in Taiwan - “BCC Broadcasting Museum ”

New Generation Radio

During Jen-ai Road Period,
BCC often hosted small concerts onsite. “Soul Mate Time” invited Wu Bai to
perform live.

“Pop Music Chart” is the ranking selected by
BCC, which is an important index among listeners and the recording industry.

BCC Website and
technology
|
In 1996, BCC became
the first Taiwanese radio broadcasting company to establish a website and serve
BCC listeners world wide (www.bcc.com.tw).
