Before each batch of Taiwan tilapia is sent to the food processing plant, several important steps were required to execute. First, the fish must pass the drug test. That is, some sample Taiwan tilapias must be sent to a laboratory of university or governmental organization for food inspection. This step is to verify if that batch of Taiwan tilapia can conform to the standard of drug residues or heavy metal elements. Only those qualified batches can get the qualification test reports. Second, after each batch of Taiwan tilapia entered the food processing plant, the
"Fish Tasting" step is necessary to execute. The inspectors try eating and check if there is any earth taste or strange smell, and also check the appearance of fish body.
