We discuss together about which categories for which members. The purpose of assignment is giving every team members his or her responsibility. We try to have balanced work distribution. We can schedule our progress and monitor everyone’s working situation through it. Fair work assignment can maximize our work efficiency. Following are our assignments:Yan-Min-”Study and Progress,” “Observation and Data”;Yun-Zhen-”Changeful Clouds,” “Questionnaire Analysis,” “Behind the Scenes”;Bing-You-”Challenges and Perseverance,” “Service and Contribution,” “Limitations of Weather Forecast”;Yu-Jun-”Weather Observation Terms,” “Progress Report”;Zheng-Yao-”Origin and Motive,” “Hemei Weather Station,” “Monthly Observation Report”;Yu-Hong-”Weather Disasters,” “References,” “Project Overview”;Dun-Qi-”Weather Observation Instruments,” “Hemei Weather Observation”;Ru-En-”Initiation and Establishment,” “Future Prospects”;Yi-Ting-”Collected Historic Data,” “Mind Map Analysis”;Rui-Lin-”Interesting Proverbs,” “Project Elements,” “Project Contribution.” Finally, Yan-Min, Yu-Jun and Yun-Zhen are responsible for “Behind the Scenes:Our Learning Journey”;The entire team writes on “Behind the Scenes:About Us.” “Two heads are better than one!” We have to show our team spirit. Everybody works together. Even though this project is huge and complicated, as long as we work hard together we can finish our missions on time!
Today we establish our headings and subheadings of our website structure based on the result of last discussion. We have to think of summaries and introductions for the five headings, “Mr. Lu Quan-En,” “Silver Star Weather Station,” “Little Weather Knowledge,” “Hands-On Weather Study,” and “Project Narrative.” Captain is responsible for our work assignment. Each one of us is assigned to several subheadings. Some of headings can be dealt with from the materials we currently possess, but some of them will have to wait until we interview Mr. Lu Quan-En and Mr. Chang Zhi-Wei to obtain information. There are also several headings can only be finalized until the final discussion. Subheadings we can process right away are assigned first. One group usually consists of three or four people. Some works require teamwork, and the others can be done independently. Although these works are well distributed, some of them are still too laborious for us. Team members who have high capability are usually responsible for those works, so it progresses quite well. Our teachers also praise us! After all, a team relies on helping each other. If one of us encounters a obstacle, every one of us would find the solution together. This is teamwork spirit!
Today teacher helps us move our website on Weebly to do editing and to modify some titles of the headings or subheadings. Some subheadings of the third heading “Weather Wizard” is a little bit insufficient. There are also some overlaps with our assignment. If we do not adjust them in time, there could be overlapped data or unclear categories. Therefore, we decide to delete one subheading and add two new ones. The deleted subheading is “atmosphere pressure and air current.” In order to enrich the established categories, we add two new categories “The Ever-Changing Weather” and “Weather Observation Terms” to our original plan. It not only covers more grounds, but can also attract reader’s interests. Teacher tells us that we will try out the revised website and he will teach us how to use it. We will have more discoveries on the website. This is very exciting! As such, we begin to have a prototype and structure. We are very looking forward to try out the website next week. After all, this is our first time getting in touch with cyber fair and building a website. We are also worried about encountering difficulties. We have to seize this rare opportunity to learn these high-tech technologies. We can use them in the future because it is the era of internet right now!
When we browse all sorts of websites, we are very curious about the making of a website? In order to provide users smooth experiences, making of a website requires superb techniques and methods! Today’s lesson emphasizes on how to make a webpage, the craft of making it and notices. We are still unfamiliar with webpage production because this is our first time. Therefore, teacher begins by introducing the website and its tools. Everyone logs on and browses every function first, and then teacher explains each one of them and let us operate manually. He specially opens an e-learning website so we can practice freely on it. We do not have to worry about making mistakes. Even though we are not familiar with or know where to start, we gradually have some basic understanding about making a webpage after teacher’s detailed explanation. Making a webpage is not as difficult as we thought. As long as we are willing to learn and pay attention to it, everyone can learn its techniques! We are very thankful to our teachers for letting us learn how to make a webpage through cyber fair. We should apply what we have learned into enriching our website!
Last time teacher taught us how to make a webpage, we are going to officially make a webpage! Teacher begins by setting up a (trial) Silver Star Weather Station webpage for us to try out and to be familiar with every function on it. Teacher let us create freely and paste anything we want because we use trial webpage. One of our teammates is a super fan of Pikachu, so he puts so many Pikachu on his pages. He also adds profile and information of Pikachu! Everyone also pastes his or her favorite thing on the pages. We are getting familiar with making webpage under this happy operation! After getting familiar with webpage production, teacher asks everyone to put our collected data on the official webpage. It is our homework today, and he will examine them in our next meeting. We have to be extra careful because it is not trial webpage anymore. We also need to develop habit of having a backup, so we would not lose the file in case of careless operation. Besides, teacher also puts some hints and notices on our webpage, so we can be more efficient! |
