Junyi Charging Station>Star Explorer
Star Explorer
Junyi often holds contests on the platform such as Star Explorer, Meteorite Search.  Since such activity is a major characteristic of Junyi, we’ve formed a team to compete in the contests.  The name of our team is “The gifted children of Changan CWSC32”.   What is the significance of joining Star Explorer and Meteorite Search?
Junyi wishes to maintain a special relationship with pupils.  Such relationship is different from teacher-to-pupil and parent-to-pupil relationships.  Junyi makes learning fun by coupling conventional lessons with interesting activities.  Children are allowed to have fun alongside learning and development of the habit of self-learning.  Star Explorer is an annual event across Taiwan.  There are over 50 thousand teachers and pupils taking part in the event every week.  The pupils learn together during the event.
Teacher can build and register teams from school classes to take part in the event.  With proper assignment, pupils, who tend to reject or tired of daily routine, find learning no more boring but fun.  The game-like exercises ignite them, motivate them to self-learn during leisure hours to obtain higher Proficiency ratings.

Let me introduce the characteristics of the contest.

1.Formal competition and warm-up competition
Every team can take advantage of the warm-up competition to shape itself up before the formal competition.  Practice makes perfect.  Upon the start of the formal competition, other teams will show no mercy.
2.Category based, grade based and city based
The system decides category according to team size.  We have a team of only 6 pupils and can only join the McMug Mercury category which is for team with less than 10 pupils.  For larger teams, it has to be the Foxycat Venus category.
Since we had only limited time, we couldn’t make it to the leaderboard of the national competition.
3.Regulation and Treasure Box
The score of the team is the quotient resulted from the sum of the star points obtained by the team divided by the size of the class.  Every pupil gets one star point for completing one skill.  Additional points are given according to the Proficiency of pupil, e.g. Proficiency rate 1entitles to 3 more points whereas Proficiency rate 2 gets extra 1 point (which means 3 plus 1 equals to 4 points).  If you are already at Proficient Level, you get 10 points.  In this manner, points are accumulated.   Treasure Box is dedicated for class.  If more than one half of a class has completed the daily exercise, the teacher would be given the opportunity to open the Treasure Box and get the star points inside the box which will be reset by every midnight when the system updates the scores.  The points inside Treasure Box shall be forfeited if it is not open by then.
Treasure Box when time is up    This Treasure box can be opened Locked Treasure Box
4.Our result
We have been staying at the bottom since the beginning of the contest.  That is fine with us given that we were occupied by homework and the research project.  We barely had time for Junyi.   Also, our participation was primarily for getting a better picture of the contest.   Medals and ranking are less important.  I’m sure we will do better when we are ready.
