Mr Shin-chou Fang has taken part in charitable
activities
since his college days. He has always wanted to devote to charity
whenever possible. After retirement, he found quite a number of people
residing in the rural area to hold classes for the
underprivileged. He learned from these people that underlying
cause is the large gap between urban and rural areas. Education is the
only solution to the problem.
Mr
Fang believes that technology could be a tool for improving education
in the current internet era. Supported by Mr Stanley Yen,
Chairman of The Alliance Cultural Foundation and his friends in Silicon
Valley, Mr Fang created Cheng Zhi Education Foundation. The
Junyi
education platform was put on-line in October 2012.
After thorough discussions, the board of director
of Cheng
Zhi Education Foundation has appointed Mr Ray Lu as leader of the team
to establish Junyi Academy, a new foundation dedicated for supporting
the Junyi education platform.
Cheng
Zhi Education Foundation has run the platform for 5 years. The
foundation managed to enroll 950 thousand users, hold over a hundred
seminars for teachers. Since 2018 Cheng Zhi Education Foundation has
transferred the education platform business to the Junyi Academy.
Having taken over the business, Junyi Academy
continued
to employ technologies to help teacher in traversing knowledge to
individual pupils for elimination of the deep-rooted
weakness.
Through such use of technologies, children are provided with
opportunity to integrate themselves with the modern world and the
future. Junyi believes that every child has the ability to
reach
out to the world and the heart to contribute to the society.
Such
belief is the basis for Junyi’s continual effort in inducing positive
changes in education in Taiwan.
