The nine-box matrix gathers important information during our thought processes and inspires us to come up with additional creative ideas. It facilitates data compilation and mapping by putting the key information in the central grid and other relevant data in the surrounding eight boxes. With the use of the nine-box matrix, we are no longer confined to the conventional linear thinking style. Instead, we can expand our thinking to all directions and easily come up with many more great ideas. The process of filling in the grids is therefore the time for brainstorming.
