Notes of Kite Artist：Research Methods

　　After discussing many times, we remained the decision to conduct the project of Buteo Huang’s kite art. We collected materials including the internet, books, magazines, and newspapers cooperatively. Teacher Huang expected us to do some research on his stories before we interviewed him. We efficiently organized an interview outline by reading materials accordingly and sharing reflections. We even prepared a mock interview for the sake of personal interview with the master.

　　We applied camcorders, cameras, and voice recorders in case missing any words and deeds of teacher Huang. Unexpectedly it was not stressing at all to meet with teacher Huang. Teachers and students enjoyed teacher Huang’s humorous talk very much. He wholeheartedly shared his experience of kite art for decades with us. We recorded his humorous eloquence and fluent lecture via our advanced technology devices. He didn’t pause throughout five hours. We admired his extraordinary energy deeply.

　　We gradually analyzed and organized first-hand interview materials, and contacted and interviewed other related persons. In the process, we found knowledge of kites very interesting, and explored thoroughly its relevant knowledge. The teacher reminded us that we should share Buteo Huang’s stories we knew with other students and convey relevant information of kites we collected to more people, which could encourage everyone to make dreams come true. This was such a brilliant idea. It would be more substantively meaningful to put our efforts into practices. We tried planning practicable action plans for sure. To be honest, this was such a huge task. Nevertheless, we found it very meaningful that we could share our research result and thus influence more people.
