The reason of calling this village as ˇ§Special Case Military Dependents' Villageˇ¨ is because it does not meet the criteria of being a military dependents' village. In this area, there are around ten families. The small houses are built on the hill. This hill was a cemetery for burying nameless. No one lives around this are. However, there was a barrack around this area. Some veterans live in this area after they retired.

In the early time, the Government built many military dependents' villages. However, there were 0.60 million soldiers and they have relatives. Number runs up. The villages were not big enough for all of them. Some veterans had no property after retired. Also, at that time, the Government had not enough budgets so veterans received very few money for their retirement pension. They cannot afford buying houses and they did not get assigned into the villages. Therefore, they move to this area right next to the cemetery. At first, they built some simple sheds because most of soldiers believed that they will go back to China after three or five years at that time. They never believed they will stay there for about sixty years. The government just completed moving all the graves several years ago. When they first moved to this area, graves were all around their sheds according the elders who lived in this area.

The honor soldiers here were single. In the 1950s, the Government was taking a serious and aggressive military attitude toward China . The Government was ready to take some military actions to China so the Government did not give honor soldiers the freedom of getting married. After the limitation was canceled, they were old and poor. It was harder for them to get married and have their own families. Hence, there are quite a lot of honor soldiers still single. On November, 1987, the Government allows people visiting their relatives in China . Then, many honor soldiers went back to their hometowns and got married. They came with their wives. Therefore, there are around twenty Chinese brides in ˇ§Special Case Military Dependents' Villageˇ¨.

The residence in this area has no ownership on the land. Therefore, we hope the Government will face this problem and give those honor soldiers, who spent their youth to serve this country and have no money, a place to spend their time when the sheds will be took apart.
