Mt. JiNa is located around ZiQiang tunnel in DaZhi District. During the time when Japanese took over Taiwan , there were some residents in this district. However, most residents moved into this district during 1950s. Among those 3 hundred residents, two over third residents were honor soldiers. Since the living expense was pretty low, even with such terrible environment, for those old honor soldiers, who could make a living easily, new immigrants and native Taiwanese, this provides a shelter. Mt. JiNan is a resident district for people with middle range or low incoming rage. Mt. JiNan is located on a dangerous slope. People were killed in some typhoons. Because of those accidents, the Government moved this resident area to somewhere else on 2004, and announced this area as “Mt. JiNan Ecological Protection Area”.
