The school fair is a big event to all
the students. There are sports competitions and school fair
where everyone can enjoy snacks and games. Our club, the
science project club, has a booth there, too.
Our theme this year is ¡§Taipei Metro Stations with special
features.¡¨ We designed two posters to introduce five metro
stations, including Xinbeitou Station, Jiantan Station,
Zhongshan Station, Beimen Station, and Daan Park Station,
and a poster for people to sign their names for following
the metro etiquette.
We also made the questionnaires to collect people¡¦s opinions
about our posters and their experience of taking the MRT. We
gave five-dollar coupon as a gift of filling out the
questionnaire. At first, we were shy and we only invited
teachers and schoolmates we know to our booth. Then we felt
more confident and started to ask other people to read our
posters and filled out the questionnaires. Soon the
questionnaires we prepared had been sent out and the posters
about following metro etiquette were full of signatures. We
were very excited and satisfied.

Questionnaire Analysis
1. The majority of the respondents
were students at school (60%), the remaining 23% were
teachers, 12% were guests, and 5% were parents.
2.The transportation for the majority
respondents is metro or bus.
3.More than half of the respondents take
the MRT once a week. Fewer respondents take the MRT more
times. The reason may be that most of the students who
answered the questionnaires lived near our school, so they
did not need to take the MRT.
4.87% of the respondents have seen
people yield seats to people in need. 18% of the respondents
have seen people eat or drink on the MRT. The results
indicate that people are willing to help others in need, but
the idea of no food on the MRT needs to be strengthened.
5.Although the Taipei MRT Company bans passengers from
eating and drinking on the Metro, 18% of the respondents
still often see people eating or drinking on the Metro,
which means that we need to improve our Metro etiquette.
6.Almost half of the respondents dropped
their belongings on the MRT and the lost items had been
retrieved to their owners. The survey result implied Taipei
Metro Corporation provides satisfying service of lost and
found.
7.For the match of stations and their
characteristics, one point is obtained from one correct
match and five points for all the correct ones. 84% of the
respondents got all the correct matches, meaning most of the
people were familiar with these five stations. Respondents
with wrong matches said that they might answer with their
personal experience or might not read the posters carefully.
We used three classes to collect the
questionnaires and then we used Excel to turn the survey
result into charts. We analyzed the data, discussed
together, and drew a conclusion. We have learned more about
Taipei Metro, how to interact with people, and the softwares
for designing posters and questionnaires. We have learned
more than we have ever imagined through this project.
