Stations ¢@ Jiantan
Jiantan
It is located on Tamsui-Xinyi Line and
the station code is R15. The station is on Zhongshan North
Road and it has three exits. The station is known for its
architecture, which is inspired from the concept of dragon
boat. The concept of the architectural used the old Shilin
suspension bridge as the design basis. It used beam less
column design with the combination design of modern
minimalism and traditional Chinese dragon boat. The roof is
suspended by two soaring concrete pylons. A few pillars
between the platform and the roof prevent the roof shaking
from the wind. It was selected as the top 10 coolest subway
stations from the USA in 1995, along with the Drassanes
Station in Spain and Arts et Metiers Station in France.
One time our club members visited Shilin Night Market
together. We tried many delicious local food. The crust of
the chicken fillet was crispy and the chicken was tender and
juicy. The stinky tofu was yummy and snacks like deep-fried
sweet potato balls, fried milk, and drinks were tasty. As we
enjoyed our food, we walked toward Jiantan Station. Looking
at the station from the distance, it is really like a dragon
boat in the air.
