Beimen
It is on Songshan-Xindian Line (Green
line) and the station code is G13. There are many ways to
get to Beimen Station:
(1)Take Songshan-Xindian Line directly to Beimen Station.
(2)Take Tamsui-Xinyi Line to Zhongshan Station or Chiang
Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station and transfer to Songshan Line
to Beimen Station.
(3)Take Bannan Line to Ximen Station and transfer to
Songshan-Xindian Line to Beimen Station.
(4)Take Wenhu Line to Nanjing Fuxing Station and transfer to
Songshan-Xindian Line to Beimen Station.
(5)Walk through the Zhongshan Underground Metro Mall to
Taipei Main Station. Walk toward Shinkong Mitsukoshi
Department (Taipei Station Branch) and then you can reach
Beimen Station.
Beimen is an underground station and it is also a heritage
site. It was the Machinery Bureau back to the time of Qing
Dynasty and a railway factory during Japanese colonial
period. The underground floor is an open space for exhibiton,
displaying carved ancient city gates, old trains and the
reproduction of the excavation pits of the North Gate
Remains. We can walk on the glass surface floor and look at
the bricks and pipelines below.

Nearby Attractions
1. Beimen Ancient City Gate¡GTaipei city was built in 1884 and there
were five gates. The
North Gate is the national monument and it is the only gate
of Fujian-style building that remains in Taipei. There are
bulletproof holes on the gate for you to imagine the past.
2. Taipei Post Office¡GIt
is the oldest post office in Taiwan. It is the Grade 3
national monument, with the history of more than 90 years.
It was built during the Japanese Colonial Period and the
architectural design combined Baroque architecture and Greek
architecture. It is one of the few post offices that open
till nine p.m.
3. The Railway Division of Taiwan
Governor-General¡¦s Bureau of Transportation¡GIt
was the location of the Machinery Bureau back to the time of
Qing Dynasty and the Japanese Colonial Period. When the west
coast rail line opened, the vehicles needed to be repaired
so the working area continued to extend. You can see two
towers from the outside and there are classical columns and
arches in the buildings. It is now the national historic
site, a beautiful and unique historiography building.
4. Mitsui Warehouse¡GIt
is a red brick warehouse from the Japanese Colonial Period.
It is one of the few buildings displaying the Mitsui Group¡¦s
diamond-shape trademark. The renovated historical building
is now displaying valuable historical documents and
artifacts about North Gate, Taipei Post Office and the
Railway Division of Taiwan Governor-General¡¦s Bureau of
Transportation.
