To market and extend the reach of
Junyi, we designed this
Challenger Event for all pupils in Changan Elementary School.
In view
of the size of the participants, we needed more human resources and
preparation. We worked with Grade 5 schoolmates who managed
the Robot
Fun Station whereas we prepared all the questions. A
Challenger Zone
was set at the classroom for the Gifted Children. We had a
rehearsal
one week before the event.
|
The questions was divided and
classified into 3
groups, namely simple, medium and difficult. Each question
was
associated with a QR code which was in printout form.
Questions
were revealed on tablets upon scanning of the printouts which were
randomly selected. The pupil was supposed to answer the
question
according his choice among the 3 groups. Junyi points would
be
awarded if one answers a question correctly. Simple, medium
and
difficult questions corresponded to 1 to 3 points
respectively.
Those who managed to collect enough points were entitled to proceed to
Robot Gate.
Robot was the course title of the
Gifted class this year. We learned about robots and tried to
write programs. The activities at the Robot Fun Station were
shown below. Pupils with enough points were to take part in
the
activities.

H.Questionnaire
and the Junyi team
Robots
and games are fun. All pupils tried hard to collect
points.
This kind of motives effectively drive the children to do
mathematics. Given the large number of participants, each of
us
has to man different gates and be gatekeepers to help our schoolmates.
