The moment I heard that we get a chance to be involved in this year’s competition, I felt both excited and worried, excited that I get to learn about making a webpage, but worried that it won’t be good enough! But under our teacher’s encouragement, we started a series of interviews, data collection, photo shooting, webpage development discussion etc. Flashback to the start, we had no idea what to do, but then the title decided, hard work, and great results. Now I think about it, it’s been very emotional, with great rewards. I’m glad that I participated this competition, it enabled me to learn a lot and understand more about dogs, and also a lot on how a research project should be done. It has been a great experience for me and hard work surely has paid off, I’m grateful to be a part of this team and hope that the research can be seen and learned by other people.

A blink of an eye, this long research project is already over. Participating this research has been fresh and interesting, I learned so many skills and knowledge throughout. I am very happy to be in this competition, and glad that other students participated, and hope that everyone can use what they have learned in the future. I also hope that using this opportunity, other people can also learn more about stray dogs, it’s not their fault, it is the owners that abandoned them that should be responsible, hopefully people will understand after see our work. |

Thankful for this chance, I finally get to see in person, in depth, the situation of stray dogs on the county road no.139. I see stray dogs every day, but never really understood them, at first, I thought they were dirty and aggressive, however, though this research, I finally get to know the real truth, and I feel sorry for them. Our teachers led us, using our holidays, to visit the animal shelters and other interesting places, and used our own time to creating the webpage, under this investigation, I learned a lot, not just about dogs, but also skills that I can use in the future. I’d like to thank all the teachers and teammates that helped and participated in this project.

At first, I was really nervous, because I’ve never created a webpage before, and wasn’t sure what topic I should use. Luckily, our teacher showed us several award winning project, then I slowly get to know how this research should be done, what the procedures are. Our team then started a discussion and decided that we will research about stray dogs. I learned and realized after the research that even dogs have expressions emotions, how learned how we should take care of them. What I learned from this project has been meaningful. I hope that everyone would see our project, touched by it and learn more about stray dogs.

It was the first time that I entered this kind of competition, our teachers have been very patient with us, researching with us, hope that we will do well. I started off very nervous, but as the research went a lot, I wasn’t nervous anymore, it got very interesting for me, I learned a lot from what I couldn’t from books! Especially since our school decided to adopt a dog, I was very excited, but I knew this is where responsibility has to jump in. I learned how to interview and how to make a webpage, it’s amazing. Hope we do well in this competition

When every decided to research on dogs, I thought it was going to be boring, as we see them all the time on county road no.139, what is there to research? But after a series of events and discussions, I changed my mind, it was really interesting, and it let the whole group work together, discuss together, and it gave me an opportunity to learn how to research data, we don’t very often get this sort of chance, and I really appreciate it, and I thank all the students and especially the teachers hard work. |

LIN, ZE-RUEI's thoughts: |
From this competitive event, I learned a lot, what left the biggest impression was that the choice of the topic because our neighborhood had too many stray gods, so it really was worth our time researching this problem, we investigated very thoroughly, although stray dogs may look bad, but it has a life, and they do have an impact on the environment. Thank you, to all the teachers and participants, I learned so much from this project. |

SYU, TING-LUN's thoughts: |
In this research project, I had to work in a group, which I learned how important teamwork is, how important it is to express your opinions, this would make the research more efficient. It is also very important to allocated work evenly, so everyone has something to do, not left out. Some students are good at are, some with computers. I was slow at typing, and thought I didn’t contribute much, and then I realized that I was really patient, and tidied all the data collected. I’m really glad that I could help and participate in this competition. And hope that we would score well. |

SYU, CIAO-HAN's thoughts: |
It was my first time taking part in this competition, after working so hard with our team, I realized that, stray dogs aren’t so bad after all, they are just very unfortunate, and that their owners were so cruel to abandon them. I feel lucky that I had this opportunity to learn about these dogs, and that I really benefited from participating.

SYU, YU-FEN's thoughts: |
Pets are cute, and are adorable, but are you prepared to own one? Having a pet is like having a child, you need to be patient, and to show love, and you also need the time and the money. Animals grow, and have a life, you cannot ditch it once you get bored of it. If everyone had this mindset, stray dogs’ number in Taiwan would reduce significantly. Taiwan’s animal law boundaries also have a lot of room for improvement, such as more control on illegal breeders, promoting more shelters to be built, these animals on the street would then be off the street and have somewhere to stay.
