How we can reduce the number of stray dogs

In order for this number to reduce, there are a few options we can work on:

1.        Promotion of neutering: There are more benefits than drawbacks to neutering a dog, besides from reducing the noise pollution they make during mating season, it also reduces the dog’s aggression. Now days, many organizations offer free neutering surgery for dogs.

2.        Microchips: In order for owners to looking after their dogs for life, the government has created a ‘Pets registration control’, once the microchip is injected, you will be able to find your pet once scanned if it gets lost. And you can also find contacts of its owner.

3.        Adopt rather than purchase: There are very few legal breeding homes, most puppies are breed illegally, these illegal institution have harsh conditions, and they don’t give proper care and vaccination to these puppies. If we can adopt rather than purchase, we can stop these illegal institutions and save these dogs from such environment.

4.        More adoption and less abandonment: A dog’s life can only last around 10 years, before adopting a dog, one should analyze their economic capabilities, and whether they have the time to take care of the dog. Once the decision is made, they should never leave and abandon the dog.
