The problem which now makes doctors in Taiwan tremble with fear on hearing of it is --- medical disputes.
National Health Insurance makes the treatment to doctors bad and the incentives aren’t enough. Additionally, the number of the medical disputes occurring nowadays seems to soar fast, so are appeal cases. The tougher the works doctors handle are, the higher the risk.
In medical groups the opinions themselves don’t coincide, and jurists consider the doctors don’t have the immunity from the medical negligence. Because people from all walks of life don’t agree on, there is no medical negligence insurance, and the hospitals won’t help the doctors to dispose such problems, at last, it will be the doctor who may be just an employee that probably assumes the responsibility which is synonymous with what a boss should take.
Even though how careless the doctor may be, the mistake caused owing to doctors is what the doctor should face and be to blame for. Patients originally are those who seek help. It is natural that they would be quite mad if coming to grief. However, the medical dispute is something everyone doesn’t want to be confronted with. Doctors exert themselves to help patients with their own hands. If any accident happens, of course, the doctor will feel very mournful and self-condemned and patients themselves won’t be willing to accept such a result. We only hope when facing the medical dispute, patients, doctors and their family and friends could treat it with reason and calm.
