1.Environment:
Cih-Sheng which is located in Changhua City covered an area of about one thousand pings, providing a green-ness and barrier-free environment for the physically disabled people, such as bath lifts and mobile lifts. Also, everyone has enough space for his own with a bed and a wardrobe; it provides both privacy and usability. That makes the maximum use of the space. Classrooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms in Cih-Sheng are all considered with lighting and ventilation and are regularly cleaned and disinfected to keep indoor and outdoor environment clean and sanitary.
Cih-Sheng has received the counseling of recyclable waste from Changhua County Environment Protection Bureau since 1997 to start doing garbage classification and recycling works to minimize the amount of waste. In 1998, Cih-Sheng earned marked grants from "former Taiwan Provincial Department of Social Affairs,” The fire facilities in the old building were all repaired, the compartments were replaced by fireproof materials, the fire detection systems were re-laid, and planned a fire protection segment. Furthermore, Cih-Sheng has cooperated with Changhua Fire Bureau with the periodic inspection every six months.
2.Organization:
In Cih-Sheng, we set up Board of Directors. (Chairman → Dean → Secretary → groups of rehabilitation, teaching＆remedy, administrative management, social workers, and child-care. And as each group’s requirement, they divided staves into these groups.
Rehabilitation group → nurses, dietitians, therapists
Teaching＆remedy group → early intervention, adults (feat cultivate group, benevolence)
School age → special education, home schooling
Administration Unit → amanuensis, personnel, accounting and general affairs)
Social worker group → early intervention, adults, case-management
In addition, the social worker group is in charge of case-management, resource links, Career Guidance, Vocational Guidance, social activities, group activities and out-hospital services. Out-hospital services include early guidance, disabled-adult case management and disabled-people temporary service.
Changhua Hospital and Taichung Zhongshan Medical rehabilitation team marched into Cih-Sheng before. And now, we cooperate with the physical medicine/rehabilitation department of Show Chwan Hospital for delivering the rehabilitation treatment. We also have physical therapists and occupational therapists in here. Last but not the least, there are many professional full-time nurses, dietitians and chefs who are responsible for all service users, like dealing with cooking, health care and nutrition assessments.
