We investigate the Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization. The members of the organization devote their labor and money to build 384 bridges at the past 31years and they still keep going on now. We study the history and the promoter for understanding their purpose. We visit and work with the members, check the archives of the Chiayi Social Affairs Bureau, and have a field investigation. During the research, we truly understood how the Charity Organization built more than three hundred bridges of love and hope on this land by means of merely one hundred dollars. They showed us their determination and devotion. They are indeed a great example of the power of cooperation. Participating in the International CyberFair, our techniques in the field of computer have been polished. Moreover, after we experienced the hardship on the construction site with the Charity Organization, we learned a more constructive attitude toward life at the same time. What we got from the research will make our future brighter.

To do the research, we integrated the knowledge we learned from various subjects at school. For instance, the questionnaire required the writing skill learned in Chinese class, the concept of numbers learned in math class and the Excel statistics graph analysis learned in computer class. In addition, it took communicative techniques, team work and time management to accomplish our work. We learned to do the research on our own. We made a lot of progress in many aspects.

The vision of the technology education in Taiwan is “Accessible information, motivated study, cooperative creation, lifelong learning.” During the research, we deeply felt the convenience and benefits brought by the computer technology. We depended a lot on computers during the process of information collection and integration, the communication among the members, and the presentation of our work. The Internet is a more convenient way to obtain the information than books. It provides a fast instant platform to exchange information. The project homepage can show our work to the world. It is very efficient to do research through the Internet.
